Sad Days are Coming

Clary woke up staring at the.artificial clouds on the ceiling of the infirmary, and her mother staring right at her, "Clary, my baby girl I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, Jace was the first one to come back alive. He explained it all to us, about the council, and about your new powers and such." Jocelyn had started to cry and she just hugged Clary. "Mom, how long have I been out...where is everyone else" Jocelyn smiled at Clary and kissed her head "Youve been out for two days, and the rest are in another part of the infirmary, your the second one awake." Clary nodded and tried to get up but Jocelyn told her to lie back down. "Mom, I'm fine, really I just want to check on Axel" Jocelyn thought about and the reluctantly agreed "Fine but take it easy" Clary got up and ran to the.other part of the.infirmary. She saw Axel and ran towards him.

He was lying on one of the beds, soundly sleeping. She held his hand and walked out of the infirmary and went to her room. She walked past Jaces room, she felt a small singe of guilt. When he kissed her, she had kissed back but she felt Axels eyes on them so she pushed him and went to Axel. She knocked on Jaces room and he opened the door. " Look, Maryse that's all Raz- Clary?" He looked at her genuinely confused. " Hey Jace, I'm can I come in"

Jace nodded and gestured her in " Clary, I'm so happy your ok and about earlier and the...kiss, I'm sorry I just had to do it" Clary went and hugged Jace " No Jace I'm sorry, I wanted to kiss you more but, Axel was there." Jace hugged Clary back. "Jace, I love Axel and I'm going to get married to him, but I want one last kiss from you, God I'm crazy. You broke my heart by cheating on me but I can't resist." Jace paled " Clary I didn't cheat on you, well I did but I was under fascination" Clary didn't want to listen all she did was pull Jace in and kissed him. Jace deepend the kiss, and picked Clary up. Clary moaned and kissed Jaces neck. "You know, I would have refused to do this last week" Clary said in between kisses. "I know" was all Jace said, Jace pushed Clary on his bed and started fumbling with her shorts, but Clary just pushed him lightly away and got up " I'm sorry Jace, but I can't do this I can't betray Axel more than I already have" Clary got up and left without saying anything more.

"What the hell was I thinking, why did I do that" Clary thought to herself as she made her way up to the library. In there she saw that everyone else was awake now, and were chilling on the couches " Clary, where were you" Axel said pulling her into a kiss " I was in my room" Axel sighed with relieve, Clary looked at his back. His wings were...tattooed on his skin? "I'm where's your wings" Axel laughed and turned around " You can make them pop out if you want to", He made his beautiful golden wings pop out. "Try it " Isabelle said in the background. She stepped closer to her and urged her on. Clary focused on her wings, she thought of the delicately soft bristles on her skin, the soft weight of the wings on her back, when opened her eyes back up she felt the weight on her back again. She walked over to a large mirror on the wall of the library. The wings towered over her, but yet they looked slight and graceful.

Everyone gasped in awe, they all had their wings open now. But Clary noticed something, her wings were bigger than everyone else's. " Your obviously the leader Clary, what are we.going to do" piped a small voice, Clary looked behind her and saw Mikayla and her sister Ruby. Clary stared into the distance, not sure what to think " I can't be a leader, you all know that" Alec and Magnus walked up to Clary and hugged her " Its ok, biscuit we will all find a way" Magnus said while stroking Clarys hair. She laughed at his old nickname for her.

Alec just whispered "It's going to be ok" over and over again in a repetitive pattern. All Clary wanted was to cry...but she couldn't, not around everyone. She thought back to the time she lived with Jace and Sebastian, she had tricked Jace into meeting her at Luke's house...that's it that's what she had to do. She.pulled away from Magnus and his sparkly hair and Alec and his leather. "I know what I have to do, I have to go with Sebastian..voluntary, like I did with Jace all those years ago. That's the only way" Axel came up behind Clary and turned her around "No, Clary I won't let you do this"

Clary just started at him and then replied to his rant " I have to Axel, your a Shadowhunter you have to say good bye to the people you love sometimes. I will be back, but until then wait for me" Axel made a disapproving stare, then his eyes glossed over in tears, Clarys did the same. "How long, until we come and find you" he asked pulling her in for a long embrace. "Give me a year, if I'm not home until then...come and track me" Clary hugged every one and then went to her room.

"Clary can't do this" Kiera said pacing back and forth " We have to let her, that's why Raziel revived us...destiny. He wouldn't let her get killed again...right" Alec said sitting in a chair with his head in his hands. Everyone heard the library doors open and they perked their heads up.

"Why is every one looking so glum" asked Jace as he walked into the large room. Axel had years in his eyes, and glared at Jace, " Clary is leaving so she can pursue Sebastian" Axel replied to Jaces question. Jace ran out of the library, he had to find Clary.

Clary was in her room, trying to pack things for her "trip". She had packed almost everything in her room, except a picture of her and Jace. It was a picture of her and Jace staring into each others eyes, it was the best moment of her life then. She lied the picture on the now empty bed and made the.portal to her old apartment.

Jace ran to Clarys room, he had to convince her not to go. He couldn't loose her again. He made it down the hallway to her room and opened the door. The last few sparks of the portal died out and Jace was left to stare. He looked around the room for any sign of where she went, but all he found was a picture on her bed. He grappled the photo and took it in his hands, it was a picture of him and Clary the day before she found him kissing Violet. He threw the picture at the wall in anger. The sudden burst of anger gave him an idea of where she went, so he grabbed his stele and made the portal.
