RYDER'S POV
I go downstairs and tell my parents I leave next week for "UCLA."
"Um hey I got an email from UCLA that I have to be there for orientation next week." I said.
"Okay. And how long will it last for?" My mom asked.
"A week." I said.
"A week? Ohio State was only a weekend." My dad said.
"Yeah well UCLA is different. Plus I want to feel comfortable there since I'm going to be in a different state and on a different coast." I said.
"Yeah I guess that makes sense." My mom sighed.
"Where are you off to now?" My brother Ethan asked.
I clenched my jaw at the sight of him.
Only seven more days of him. I tell myself.
"I'm going back to California for UCLA orientation next week." I said.
"For how long?" He asked.
Since when did he start caring?
"For a week." I said.
"Good. Can Alex sleepover next week then? He can use Ryder's room as a guestroom." He asked.
"Of course he can!" My mom said.
"Excuse me?! I'm gone a week not a lifetime. Before you guys start planning on turning my room into a guest room or arcade, at least wait until I'm actually moved into my dorm." I ranted.
"Relax, Ryder. It's just one night." She said.
"I don't care! All my stuff is still going to be there!" I said.
"Why do you hate me?" Ethan asked.
"Because all you do is find new ways to try and ruin my life!" I yelled running back upstairs.
I grabbed my phone and instantly texted Luke.
