RYDER'S POV
"I don't think Mikey and I will ever be as close as we once were." He said.

My heart dropped.

"W-Why?" I stuttered.

"Long story short, he asked me to move back in and we started fighting and he was basically talking trash about you and I was like that's not going to fly with me so yeah." He explained.

My heart started beating faster.

Me.

It's always because of me.

I bet Luke's life would be better if I hadn't said yes to being his.

Granted I wouldn't be this happy.

Dammit, Ryder.

Stop making everything about you.

"Ryder stop please." Luke said wiping tears I didn't know I had away.

"Please babe. This isn't your fault." He said trying to hold my shaky hands.

I was hyperventilating, crying, and my hands wouldn't stop shaking.

The worst part was, I didn't know how to stop.

I tried getting up, but my body wouldn't let me.

"Ryder, you need to calm down. Listen to my voice." He said.

"Can you hear me?" He asked in a soothing tone.

I was able to nod.

"Breathe deep. In. Out. In. Out." He demonstrated.

I was able to regulate my breathing.

"Now tell me, what caused this?" He asked putting his arm around me.

"It's all my fault that you lost all your friends. If I hadn't came into your life you still would've had everyone." I blurted out.

His face was expressionless.

Oh god oh god oh god.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." I kept saying.

"Ryder, listen to me carefully. None of this is your fault. They need to learn to get over themselves. My life has improved drastically since you stepped into it. I do not regret you one bit. I'd rather lose everyone but you. Remember, it's you and I against the world." He said in such a warm and soothing tone.
