While waiting on Mookie to go to this kickback it started raining which normally won't bother me because I enjoyed the rain but since my hair wasn't done I knew that it was going to be a mess once we finally got to where we were going. Whatever tonight was about having fun and that's what I intended to do... though I regret the fact that I had to cancel on Dwayne because I was horny as fuck. I ran out to Mookie's car and hopped in the passenger seat; Mookie was chill as fuck, he was different than most of my boys who were mainly about hustling (which there was nothing wrong with) but Mookie was all about having fun and enjoying life and given what I've been through I needed that at the moment. The ride to campus was pretty silent except for the radio, when we arrived on campus, a couple things went through my mind mainly what I was planning on doing once I got my degree in business; me and Meeko still had our businesses but I was trying to really expand our brand.
"Ayy I gotta stop at this gas station and grab some condoms..." Mookie said and I shrugged, although now that I think about it I should probably grab some too just in case because you never know what might happen. "Grab some gum too..." Mookie said while he walked back to the coolers, I wish he would've said something before we left the house because we could've gone to my gas station and got all this stuff for free.
"Lil' Luka...." A voice said from behind me and I turned to see Big Dawg standing there with his 'bodyguards' standing to his side. "I know Niño has given you my invitation why haven't you responded?" Though his voice was polite I could see the irritation in his eyes because he wasn't used to people denying him... I knew some things about Big Dawg through Meeko but he was adamant about keeping me hidden from Big Dawg because of his reputation.
"No disrespect or anything I just felt like there was nothing for us to really talk about, I know what you do and what your about and though I respect your hustle that's not my lane..... so I appreciate the fact that you felt I was worthy of your time but I'm good." I said looking into his eyes and showing no fear whatsoever.
"I'm thinking two Sundays from now, around noonish... I've always felt brunch is a good time to discuss business, I'll have a car come and pick you up at that nice little apartment you just got so you won't be late." Big Dawg said and I just stood there staring at him because this nigga was really bold, before I could decline his offer again my phone started ringing and Big Dawg smirked before turning around and walking out the gas station.
"My bad for missing your call Todd...." Elijah said and that old flicker of annoyance mixed with arousal trickled through my body as he called me Todd. "But what's up?"
"Nothing I was just checking on you, you've been ghost these past few weeks and I just wanted to see how you were doing." I said paying for my stuff.
"I've been doing good, I've been meaning to call you but I've been busy..... Duron said wassup by the way." Elijah said and I told him to tell Duron I said wassup, I had no hard feelings towards Duron but I did have a warning that I would tell him to his face. "Well it was good talking to you and when I get back we definitely gotta go go-kart racing again and who knows maybe this time you'll be able to drive without a booster seat." Elijah said laughing.
"I see you still got jokes but it's coo, I'll catch you later Elijah I'm about to hit this little kickback so.... yeah later." I said hanging up and as soon as I turned around Mookie was standing there staring at me.
"I'm a relationship expert so my goal is to find you someone for cuddle season." Mookie said looking at me and I shook my head.
"Have you seen me? I don't need help finding someone.... let's just get to this damn kickback before it gets too late." I said walking out of the gas stations. When we finally arrived that 'kickback' it was a full-blown party and I looked at Mookie because I wasn't too big on crowds of people, especially crowds of people I didn't know.
