I stood there looking at Andre and Myles, like they were stupid as well as trying to figure out what they were up to because for them to say they wanted to chill with Raheim WITHOUT me, was raising all sorts of red flags. I knew Raheim could handle himself but still ever since that shyt with Diante I've been extremely protective of Raheim and though I wanted to believe that Andre and Myles wouldn't try any funny shyt I didn't want to take that risk. What would Doonie do in this situation? I mean he had no problem letting Elijah chill with Jaire and Luka, two niggas that Doonie knew Elijah fucked.... but this was different Doonie trusted Elijah not to cheat, but did I trust Andre and Myles not to jump or even worse kill Raheim... not saying they would but.... I looked at Raheim and I knew it really didn't matter how I felt, this was his decision to make and I had to respect whatever he decided to do. I looked at Raheim at the same exact time he looked at me, it was crazy how in sync we were and how we were able to tell what each other was thinking; I never understood how Doonie and Elijah did that but now I get it......
"Rah it's your decision, I'm not going to be one of them controlling ass niggas that say who you can and can't hang out with." I said shrugging. "What I'm more concerned about is why these niggas thought it would be a good idea to come to the backdoor instead of using the front like normal people." I said looking at Myles and Andre.
"Well there were some Jehovah's Witnesses out and about and I didn't want them seeing us coming in here, thank God Doonie has a little parking area in the back because otherwise we would've been caught and since we were already back there we figured we'd use the back door." Andre said shrugging. "Since you decided to ditch school today we figured we'd come and check in on you."
"I didn't ditch school, I had some business to take care of and......" The doorbell rang and we all froze, I tiptoed over to the door and peeked through the window where two old women were waiting patiently. Now I respect all religions and what have you but don't try to force that shyt on me, I'm good with not knowing and not living by the standards of some book written thousands of years ago, before toilets were invented.
"That's weird...." Raheim said as I walked back into the living room after the women had left. "In my neighborhood, they usually come on Saturdays, not during the work week." Raheim said and he had a point, they usually showed up when they thought people would be home and not this late in the afternoon.
"Nevermind all that, the important thing is are you spending the weekend with us or what?" Andre said looking at Raheim, I looked at Rah waiting for an answer.
"Nah, not this weekend.... my cousin is throwing a party and I promised to help him set up, but maybe next weekend." Raheim said Myles and Andre nodded before sitting down on the couch and turning on a movie. While they watched a movie, me and Raheim walked into the kitchen so we could talk. "So what do you think?" Raheim asked quietly.
"I don't know, maybe they wanna see what you're like away from me, or maybe they're planning something else. Like I said I don't wanna make decisions for you but if it were up to me and your cousin and boys wanted to get to know me without you, I'd be a little nervous and I'd be wondering what their motives were." I said leaning up against the counter.
"Maybe you're just paranoid, look you miss hanging out with your boys and you want things to go back to how they were, but you also want me included... maybe this little bonding thing will make that possible." Raheim said.
"It's not just that... when I'm around them niggas I'm kinda childish and if you start seeing that side of me I'm scared that you'll......" I said trailing off.
"You're scared I might not wanna be with you anymore?" Raheim asked and I shrugged. "De'Veon I've seen your childish side, I've seen you covered in throw up... if that's not enough to scare me away, then a few stupid jokes definitely won't. Look we got this entire house to ourselves for the weekend let's just try to.... you know enjoy it." Raheim said walking over to me and unbuckling my pants.
