The next day was different than usual. The uniform didn’t feel right and my head hurt. I considered staying home, but my grades would plummet in Narume-sensei’s class. That guy hates me for some reason. But the only teacher I really trust is Kanda. For some reason, I feel really close to her and sometimes it’s like she understands what I’m going through. I always talk to her about my forgotten memories. Sakura and I enter the class to find our friend Aoba jumping in her usual seat in front of Sakura and behind me. We said our good mornings and gossiped about the new transfer student who was coming in today. “I really hope he’s cute” Aoba starts. “Please, don’t you ever look at their Character?” Asked Sakura. “Precisely, I mean, looks are great but personality matters to.” I follow. Aoba didn’t miss a beat as usual. “Says the girls who got asked out by practically every guy in the school besides the transfer student. Don’t you guys see a personality you like?” true, but I only see the kids here as friends. “Sure, but I’m just not ready.” Sakura answers. “Ok, so what’s this personality you like? Why don’t you answer this one Olive?” the class was silent as all eyes turned to me. Sakura has liked a few guys and even showed it once, but I never have showed any interest in a boyfriend. “I…” I start, but immediately a pair of cold blue eye popped into my mind. “Cold blue eyes.” I think aloud, the class gasps as Aoba laughs. “Ok, so little sweet Olive likes the bad boys?” I snapped back to reality. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kanda frozen in astonishment and I didn’t know why. I begin to protest, “No, I just thought of my puppy, you see, she’s white and has those cold blue eyes.” “Come on Olive, spit it out!” Aoba pushes for information I didn’t really wish to give. “If she doesn’t want to she doesn’t have to.” Sakura sticks up for me. “But…” oh man, Aoba’s puppy eyes. “Fine.” I sigh. “My dream guy’s personality would be….” I pause to think, but those eyes take over my thoughts. “He would have…..” I didn’t get to finish as Kanda’s voice broke the scene. “Thanks” I mouthed. She gave a nod as she introduced the new student. I looked at the boy who walked in and found the dejavu moment returning just like when I saw the blue flame. “His name is Ogami Rei, please take care of him.” Kanda finishes as I peek at Sakura who drops her book. I hear the name like a smack in the face and all I could do was stare. Our eyes made contact and for an instant, they softened. But the soft smile turned into a fake one as he moves down the aisle. The soft gaze changed so fast that I was beginning to wonder if I really saw it. Before passing me, our eyes meet again. That simple action made my heart ack. It’s like I’ve seen him in a dream. Being the gentlemen, Ogami picks up Sakura’s book. “What a gentlemen.” One girl says aloud for all to hear and I did something I didn’t mean to, I laughed in disagreement. Not only did the class fall silent in shock, I was dumb struck as well. I clear my throat, fishing for an excuse. “I just remembered something funny.” I looked away from the class only to overhear conversations going around the room. “This is the most Olive has ever reacted to a guy. Think she likes him?” “It can’t be! But he does have those eyes, but they don’t seem cold at all. We may still have a chance.” I role my eyes. “Thanks.” Sakura makes sure to show the martial arts side for warning. She seems on edge for some reason. I’ll ask her later. “No problem” was his reply as he sits next to me. Oh Shiz! Hmm, maybe it’s because he’s cute? I mean, holy cow! I have this urge to touch his hair. What am I thinking?! Oh man. I feel his gaze, but refuse to look over at this painfully familiar face. Class was a long one that day.
