Eden explained their position and abilities. As Eden left us to train them on real missions, Hitomi bent down and whispered so only I could hear. "I'll take the others, right now I want you to concentrate on one of them." "The girl, Prince?!" I perked up. "Sorry, I was thinking more of that guy over there, Ogami Rie." I let my shoulders slump in disappointment. "But why?" I argue. "Are you arguing with me? Besides, I think he can help with your little "lost" problem." he joked as he yawned and got to work. "Ok rookies, I'll train code 2, 4 and 5, while my partner in crime will assist code 3, and 6. We will switch on occasion, but mostly you'll stay with your appointed trainer." Hitomi ranted on and on about safety and stealth. That's what we worked on first. It was easy for Yuki, or code 3, considering his power was the power of sound. Lucky dog. Code 6 or Ogami, didn't have much of a problem either. Three months later, I know have permission to take them on a mission, one at a time. Yuki and I have become pretty close since the time I saved him in his lost state. I didn't even recognize him, considering he was a cat at the time. It's been a year since then. I'm now 11 years old and ever since then he's stayed by me. But he does wander off; he's a free spirit for sure. Toki, Prince, and Heike also understand each other pretty well. Ogami is as cold as ever. Sure he's lightened up, but he's difficult to understand at times. So I decided that after we go finish his training, I was gonna take him someplace so we can get closer as coworkers. Anyway, I took Yuki out into the field first. "You ready for this Yuki?" I smirked. "sure." He yawned as he sped off in front of me. "Yuki!" I yell. "Gotta get this done, Nyon Maru is coming on in a few minutes." Was his answer as I did my best at chasing him. Finally reaching my destination, I found Yuki was standing over the bodies of the burglars. "You couldn't wait for me?" I wine as he pats my head. "Don't be sad Olive; I just really need to hurry." He sped through his words like a running cheetah. "Slow down Yuki, we'll make it in time." I laugh and grab his hand as he tries to run by me. Releasing his hand, I straiten my pastier and get my best general tone on. "Yuki, you do the work with my supervision. I tell you when you can eat, drink, sleep and leave do you understand me?" he looked shocked that I used that tone of voice with him, but I was only trying to push his buttons. He narrowed his eyes at me. Then his expression brightened as I gave a smile and said, "And I say you better get the TV on so we don't miss the show." Suddenly I'm on his back and I'm taken back to the base where Hitomi and Ogami are waiting. "That was fast, did you really get everybody?" Hitomi glanced at me for the full report that I gave with a nod. "Yep." Yuki confirmed "Impressive. Dismissed." Were his last words as Yuki zipped off at lightning speed. "Ogami, your turn. Watch out for him Olive." Kanda, The girl Hitomi saved a few years ago, chuckled. We became good friends and she was like the sister I never had. The comment seemed to annoy Ogami, but I could tell he and Hitomi became close. My turn! It was silent. Mission get Ogami to talk to me commences! "So Ogami, why did you decide to join the code beakers?" he didn't respond. Guess it's a touchy subject. "Never mind. So you and my brother hit it off? He is nice." I continued. But still no response. This was harder then I though. We were about half way there and he still hasn't said a word. Does he not like girls? I was just about to ask when he spoke. "Why did you join the code breakers?" wow he spoke!! But his eyes were a bit cold. I guess I can tell him for the sake of the conversation. "I joined because of my brother. When I was younger, my parents hated me. So I left and joined my brother with his job. It was barely noticeable, but I believe I saw his eyes soften for a moment before they became hard again, and I know why. We were at our destination. "I'll be lookout and see how you do." After that's been said, I jump on a nearby tree and scout the park. Yep, there are the gang members. It was over rather quickly since he burned them all in a matter of seconds with his blue flame. Even though he had a cold glare, I was the hurt every time his gaze landed on a burning burglar. This interested me, for I didn't see that with the other code breakers. It hurt and made me remember my first mission. Maybe that's why Hitomi put us together, because we felt the same way about killing and just didn't know how to say it. My gaze lightened as I thought about it. I decided to rescue the boy inside, considering Ogami seemed like he forgot. This disappointed me a bit, but I didn't let it get to me too much. I jumped down to an icy stare, but I didn't care. I had the sleeping boy in my hands and Ogami's gaze lightened. "Good work! But remember that your mission was to save this little boy. Don't forget the most important things." And that was that.
