Soulmate!AU where the other can see no color and can only see color on their soulmate, while the other can see color but cannot see color on their soulmate. When their eyes meet, they'll slowly see the world's colors normally.
-My life was always gray-
At 16 years old, that was the first time you ever saw color. A man, slightly taller than you wearing a basketball uniform walking behind his teammates. You want to go to him yet the crowd pushed you away and you lost sight of him.
He was the first and only thing that you noticed that day and you couldn't stop think about it.
You always went there after that day but unfortunately, you didn't have the chance to see him again.
You wanted see his colors again.
Ever since you were four, you'd draw stick men, trees and houses. You grew up with the pencil and paper.
You've been always drawn to making art.
Though charcoals and graphites were the only ones you could use.
Because you couldn't see color.
You've always wanted to try paints, watercolor and oils but how were you going to know what you were doing if you couldn't see them?
Your father was the same. That's why he chose architecture instead of fine arts, even though he was thoroughly interested in it. Even though he has already met his soulmate, your mother, he could still barely see the blue in blueprints.
"They all just look gray to me."
You squint your eyes at your dad's design of the latest project he was doing.
"How is this blue? What is blue?"
Your mother smiles at you. "It's a beautiful color, honey. You'll get to see it soon."
You grined back and shrugged. Hoping that soon will be near.
24 years of your life has been just gray except for that one moment 8 years ago.
You became a decent artist and made editorial art for your local newspaper. And you're also is a freelance artist. You only earned quite a bit but you could say that you loved your life.
Except for the fact you couldn't see what the color of the world was.
You sigh at your work table to see your other collegues "coloring" their illustrations and it made you quite envious.
"Oh you'll find your soulmate don't worry." your collegue noticed your stares.
"When?" you groaned. You lay your head on your table and stared at her. "How did it feel to see your soulmate?"
She paused her work and smiled at you. "It was so beautiful. Every color shining on him was just magnificent." she grinned. "I still can barely see colors though but it's amazing, you can slowly feel your world changing."
