Yes, you were probably the luckiest girl alive to have him for a best friend.

Who would have thought that a normal girl that has no specific talent or doesn't excel in anything would have a perfect best friend. Man, you were damn thankful to God for him.

A cheerful, optimistic, handsome, absolutely talented and tall boy have crossed paths with a pessimistic, always looks down on herself, merely has presence and shy girl. (lol sorry.. This is just how the plot goes so Sumemasen. *bows*)

Everyday you thank your mom for this.

He probably knows you better than anyone, even yourself. He always lights up your world whenever there is no light. He's the personification of love and friendship, for you that is.

Everything with him was perfect. Your day with him is always perfect but in the last few days he has been spacing out a lot.

He doesn't have that cheerful sparkle around him anymore. Most of his smiles and laughters are fake. You tried asking him what's wrong but he keeps on answering the same thing.

"I'm fine (first name)cchi. You don't need to worry about me." he smiled casually but it was obvious that he faked it this time.

But you had enough. You were sick of him always like this. He gave you the reason to smile and now it's just your time to give it in return.

You stood up in front of him and shook his shoulders. "Ryōta. Tell me what's wrong. I'm your best friend... You can tell me everything, remember?" he looked you in the eye and you saw nothing wrong with his eyes at all. 'What's happening with him?' you thought.

"Then if you want me to be happy, let's go out." he beamed as if nothing happened in the past few days.

"W-What? You were acting sad and stuff but that's all you want?" you sighed. "You could have told that days ago." you gestured.

"It's just... not the 'go out' we usually do." he whispered and looked back at the ground.

"What do you mean Ryōta?" you backed off.

"I want to go out on a date with (first name) cchi on her birthday." he smiled hoping that you would say yes which was the obvious answer.

"Etto~...." you trailed off and poked your fingers against each other. You shrugged and and tackled him. "Of course I would go, you baka!"

He put his arms around you and hugged you tightly. "Yesss! I'm gonna go out with (first name)cchi on her birthday!!" he screamed and kissed you cheek. You blushed at his action and removed yourself from him. "(first name)cchi's cheek is so soft~~…" he reacted.

"Sh-Shut up!"

You woke up from the alarm you set the other day. You were so excited that you set you alarm too early but you didn't care.

"Happy birthday to me~~" you chirped and stretched. You stood up and took a few warm ups to wake your body up. "Yosh. I'm going out woth Ryōta today. This will be the best birthday ever!!" you silently squealed.
