"I'm a survivor. I'm not gon' give up. I'm not gon' stop. I'm gon' work harder."

Lola was about to get on her bike and go to school when she got a call from Toni. Apparently Jughead had been hurt. Toni wouldn't say how but Lola could guess. She was worried about her friend and, instead of going to school, she drove to Sunnyside Trailer Park.

She burst through the door of her friend's trailer to see Betty treating cuts on Jughead's face and Toni leaning against the wall."Jesus Christ, Jug" Lola breathed out. Betty just looked over at her and continued talking to Jughead.

"Can't you just take today off?" she asked. For once, Lola agreed with her. The Ghoulies knew that Jughead wasn't a full Serpent now. While she may be safe after the incident with one of the Ghoulies at her locker the day before, Jughead was in danger. They would keep coming after him as long as he wasn't a Serpent.

"It's not that bad, just some cuts and bruises" Jughead answered. He was trying to sound convincing so he could comfort Betty but he was failing miserably.

"I told you that motorcycle was risky Jug. You promised me you were always gonna wear a helmet" Betty scorned. Lola raised her eyebrows at this. Clearly Jughead hadn't told her the truth. But really? The helmet? She was acting like his mother.

"It was just around the block. Don't blame me all right? Blame the pothole" Jughead said calmly. He was trying to lighten the mood but it wasn't working. Lola exchanged glances with Toni, wondering if she was going to tell Betty the truth.

"I thought you were gonna say that you got jumped by those creepies." Lola held in a laugh when she heard Betty say this. Creepies? Really? "Ghoulies" Toni interjected. "But no, the Serpents won't allow that. They've got Jughead's back. Even though he's not a member. It's just family loyalty."

Toni was clearly trying to calm Betty down and reassure her. It seemed to work, although she wasn't happy about Toni being here. "Great, well" she trailed off. "I've gotta go to school, try and fix this mess with Kevin. Lola, Toni, will you keep an eye on him for me?" She questioned.

"All over it" Lola answered as the blonde girl left the trailer. She then turned to glare at Jughead-something she seemed to be doing a lot of lately.

"Don't tell Betty. She doesn't need to know" Jughead blurted as soon as the trailer door closed. Lola just sighed. "We warned you about the Ghoulies. At least Lola can handle herself. I think you'll take them more seriously now" Toni scolded before leaving as well.

"Yeah, I will now" Jughead mumbled to himself. He tried to get up and get his bag but Lola shoved him back down. "Betty is right. You aren't going to school today, at least not until lunch" she ordered. Jughead knew better than to argue with Lola, so he did as she said and sat back down.

Lola sat beside him and looked at his bruises and cuts. "Jug, I warned you about being alone in that school. Why didn't you stay with Toni after I left?" she questioned. Jughead just sighed and leaned back into the couch. "She went to the quarry with a bunch of Serpents, the ones you literally ran into" he replied.

Lola elbowed him sharply for the remark about her bumping into Serpent Boy. "So why didn't you go with them?" Jughead just gave her a look as if to say "Really?" and she gave up on the topic. She knew there was no point going on about it. It had already happened and there was no way Jughead would admit he was wrong.

Lola seemed to think for a while before speaking up once more. "Jug, you know the Ghoulies aren't gonna stop, right?" she said, barely above a whisper. Jughead looked at her and his face softened. He could tell she was worried about him. He threw an arm over her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her.
