"They call me a menace. They say that I'm cursed. But somethin' about me is makin' 'em jealous so listen and learn. I herd 'em like cattle 'cause I'm surrounded by cowards and I don't give a fuck when I walk into battle and thats why I got all the power"

Lola was standing nervously beside Toni as the Serpents lined up. She was scared. What if Jughead couldn't handle it? She knew she should have faith in him but she couldn't help it; he was her best friend. If he didn't make it through or backed out now, he'd be an exile forver. That would be even worse than half a Serpent.

Jughead took in a deep breath before beginning the Gauntlet. Lola winced as she saw him being punched from Seprent to Serpent but felt proud when he didn't fall once. He had cuts all over his face and bruises were beginning to form, but he had reached the last person: Sweet Pea. "Is that all you got" Jughead taunted while groaning. Lola scoffed at him. Trust Jughead to try to rile up Sweet Pea at a moment like this. But she knew Sweet Pea didn't need to be riled up. He had never fully liked or trusted Jughead. If anything, he was going to enjoy this.

Sweet Pea smirked at the boy and slipped his brass knuckles on. Lola wanted to look away but couldn't. He was capable of breaking Jughead's jaw and they all knew it. Sweet Pea punched Jughead as hard as he could, knocking him to the ground. Lola flinched, wanting more than anything to run to Jughead and help him up but she knew that he had to do this alone. Helping him would go badly for both of them. Slowly, he got up and stared at Sweet Pea while Lola burst out into a massive grin.

Jughead and Sweet Pea shook hands as Lola took off running towards them. She jumped into Jughead's arms but quickly pulled away when she heard him groan. "Sorry! I'm just really happy for you" Lola exclaimed while giving him his jacket. Jughead smiled at her as he put it on. "Oh no, it's fine, really. I mean it's not like I can barely stand or anything" he said sarcastically, which earned him another punch, this time from Lola

Toni walked over to the pair and Lola gave her a nod. Understanding what that meant, the pink haired girl spoke up. "I can help clean up your cuts" she said, looking at Jughead. He nodded and looked to Lola expectantly. "Uh, I actually gotta go do something. You'll be fine with Toni" she answered. Jughead looked at her strangely, wondering what she needed to do at this time. Lola could tell he was about to ask questions but, luckily, Toni could see this too and dragged him away. Lola watched them walk away as Toni shot her a look of excitement over her shoulder.

Lola smiled and ran over to Sweet Pea. She grabbed his hand and started dragging him away, ignoring the confused looks from the other Serpents. "Sweets, I need you to come with me for a while. I need your help" she said, excitedly. Sweet Pea looked at her in confusion while she was practically bouncing on her toes. "Uh, okay? Where are we going?" he asked.

Lola grinned at him and began dragging him in the direction of their bikes. "You'll see. Just follow me, okay?" she said with a mischievous look in her eye. Sweet Pea looked at her warily but followed anyway. The two got on their bikes, flying down the streets of the Southside. Lola drove as fast as she could, loving the cold breeze on her face and her hair blowing out behind her. If she could spend her life doing one thing, it'd be riding her bike.

Eventually, she pulled in at a quirky looking building. "What is this place?" Sweet Pea asked her. Lola smirked at the boy and ignored him, walking inside. The place was dimly lit with colourful lights and it looked like they were just closing. There were a few people still there but they were mostly just drinking and talking.

"Lola? Is that you?" a voice called out. Lola turned around to see a woman standing by the door. She was short and skinny, with half-shaved black hair and tattoos covering her body. Lola's smile grew wide as she ran into the woman's arms. "Hey Aunt Rachel" she said. Rachel wasn't actually her aunt, but she was really close to Lola's dad. Since he had moved to Riverdale and left all of his family behind, Rachel had become like a sister to him and like an aunt to Lola.
