"You're on the edge, you're stumbling and the road it starts to wind. But every time a page is turned a chance to make it right. Oh the sun will rise, like a flame ignites. We're not done 'til we say it's over, we won't fade away. Oh the sun will rise, tomorrow never dies, tomorrow never dies"
Lola just seemed to be a magnet for trouble lately. She should be out having fun with her friends like most teenage girls would, yet here she was, tied to the doors of Southside High - her old school. It wasn't the wisest choice she had made in her life, but she stood by it none the less.
As suspected, Hirams lapdog - Archie Andrews - showed up in an attempt to get rid of them. Lola simply rolled her eyes as he approached on his bike. "Well, well, well. Cavalry's finally here" Jughead remarked bitterly. It was clear that Hiram Lodge had put a massive strain on the boys' friendship.
"Guess that means we got Hiram's attention" Lola smirked, trying to get a rise out of Archie. However, the ginger haired boy completely ignored Lola. Instead, his eyes remained solely trained on Jughead, disregarding the other Serpents.
"Are you nuts? Chaining yourself to this place? They're gonna tear it down in two days dude" Archie exclaimed. He was clearly trying to reason with Jughead, appealing to his logical side. However, Archie didn't seem to realise how much this school meant to all of them, including Jughead - he wasn't going to give up that easily.
"Not unless Hiram wants the blood of nine young Serpents on his hands" Jughead quipped. Lola hadn't even thought about that. It really would have been a bad look for Hiram to be responsible for the murder of a group of teenagers peacefully protesting.
"We're not going anywhere. Go and tell your boss we said that" Lola spat, glaring at Archie. After this, he seemed to give up and left, but they all knew this was not going to be the end; Hiram would come back with a plan that would send them all crashing down.
Until that happened, they would stand strong as a united front. Eventually, they would gain publicity and support. Even if they couldn't save the school they could at least open people's eyes to the type of man Hiram Lodge really was.
"You okay?" Sweet Pea asked from beside Lola, snapping her out of her daze of thoughts. She looked up at him and smiled reassuringly. "Yeah. Sorry, I was just thinking." They were now sitting on the ground and leaning against the wall, saving their energy for later.
Sweet Pea placed a comforting hand on Lola's thigh - after struggling with his chains - and sent her a lopsided smile. "It'll be okay y'know. Even if we can't save this place, we'll always remember it" he said in an attempt to reassure Lola. She smiled at him and leaned her head on his shoulder, grateful for his presence.
Luckily, Jughead didn't seem to notice this, and if he did, he didn't question it. Lola still hadn't confessed to him about being back together with Sweet Pea in fear of his reaction. Lola loved Jughead like a brother, but sometimes he could be overly protective like she was actually his sister.
She knew she had to and she would the next chance she got, but things had been very hectic for everyone lately. Lola couldn't think of a time in the last week where she had been alone with her best friend without having to strategize.
Hours passed by as the Serpents sat killing time. They still hadn't gained any attention but Jughead seemed sure that they would soon. If it was nt for his constant reassurance, Lola was sire everyone would have given up and gone home - herself included.
