"'Cause every night she studies hard in her room, at least that's what her parents assume. But she sneaks out the window to me with her boyfriend. Here's what she told me the time that I caught them. She said to me, forget what you thought 'cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught. So just turn around and forget what you saw 'cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught"
Sitting on the steps of Southside High with Toni and Jughead, Lola was in a trance. Toni was reading something Jughead had written but Lola wasn't paying attention. She was in her own little world. A small smile crept onto her lips as she reminisced about Christmas day. She had speant the day with Sweet Pea and the memory made her happy beyond belief.
She was snapped back to reality when Toni spoke up. "Wow, Jones, props to you. It's very Lovecraftian" she stated. Lola snorted at this and smirked at the boy beside her. She couldn't pass up the opportunity to make a remark, making fun of her best friend. "Which I'm sure was the intention" she said, taunting the boy.
Jughead glared at her slightly, but didn't answer. "But I gotta ask you, did you write this on a typewriter?" Toni continued, ignoring the encounter between Lola and Jughead. Lola smirked to herself, already knowing the answer.
"Yeah. I wanted to get into Lovecraft's headspace" Jughead brushed off, but a small smile was creeping onto his lips. Lola smirked again, seeing the perfect opportunity to tease Jughead even more.
"Oh, so it wasn't like Betty bought you a manual typewriter for Christmas or anything weird like that?" Lola said, nudging Jughead slightly. "No comment" Jughead deadpanned, looking down. Despite brushing it off, Lola could see the grin on his lips and the sparkle in his eyes. Betty really made him happy. She was glad that he had someone like her, even if they weren't technically together anymore. She knew that that would change soon enough.
Lola was about to make a smart remark once more when the doors behind her were kicked open. She jumped slightly, not expecting anyone to be leaving the school. A chorus of cheers soon followed. Out of curiosity, the girl turned around to see who was there. It was Sweet Pea and Fangs, followed by a group of Serpents.
Lola frowned in confusion, wondering why they were leaving school already. Surely they weren't all cutting class at once. It was a bit obvious if they were. "What's going on?" Jughead asked, sharing her confusion. Lola was standing up now, walking towards her Serpent Boy.
"This hellhole's officially closed" Sweet Pea answered, wrapping a hand around Lola's waist and pulling her towards him. "We're done. No more Southside High" he shrugged. Lola could sense how happy and excited the boy was but she was still confused.
Lola looked up at him with a questioning gaze. Why was it closing? "What? How?" Toni asked, reading Lola's and Jughead's minds. "They say it's dangerous. It's gonna be quarantined" Sweet Pea explained, slightly loosing interest in the conversation now.
Lola's eyebrows furrowed in confusion at this. Why would the school need to be quarantined? The worst thing in there was Jingle-Jangle; it wasn't exactly life-threatening. "Who cares. We're all going to different schools" Sweet Pea said, excitement clear in his voice once again.
Lola shook her head in disbelief. "This doesn't make any sense" she mumbled, mostly to herself. Then realisation struck her; what if they were all sent to different schools? "Where are you guys going?" she asked, looking towards Sweet Pea and Fangs.
