5/25/18-

today, i had a parent-teacher meeting in my school, its a termly event for teachers to inform our parents about how we are doing in school. honestly, mine did not go so well. cuz first of all, my results weren't commendable and today one of my teachers talked about this 'Early-Admission-Exercise' that was going to take place in the end of June. this exercise allows graduating students like me taking the GCE' O Levels exam to be guaranteed a slot in the course and poly of our choice even before sitting for the papers. before today, i was sure i had no interest in taking part at all but after my teacher said that this exercise would serve as a safety net for us students, it left me with questions.

i'm going to be extremely honest with you, i am not 100% sure with the course that i want to go for. all i know is that i was interested in pursuing something related to the media industry; a course like Mass Communication. and i'm sure i am not the only one. i'm sure that many of you are also undecided on what you want to do in the future but also know that it is not the end of the world. you can be like me who knows which field i want to specialize in, and from there on, pin point where exactly your interest lies; for example in the Engineering field on Aerospace or the business field such as International business management. what i'm saying is that, it is okay for us teenagers to not know what we want to do, we still have a long road ahead of us.

and for those in the group of influence from your peers or family, just listen to what your heart says. convince them that this is what you really want to do, and if they think that it will not get you far, prove them wrong. all of us have the right to pursue something that we want, not something that others want.

i honestly hope that this chapter inspired all ( or some ) of you. this has been lingering in my mind for quite a period of time now actually. i have friends in secondary 1 who already know which course they want to take, but i also know some who till now in secondary 4 is not entirely sure of what they want to do. so you see, its okay to be undecided, for now that is. we teenagers have a long way ahead :)
