Chapter 27: R.I.P 2 My Youth

Elena POV

"Caroline hurry please!!" I Shouted to my best friend who was driving the car as fast as she could without crashing as we followed my brother down the road. Tears streamed down my face as I was scared of losing him forever and I couldn't bare that. "Care please!!" 

"I'm trying I'm trying I'm sorry" she shouted and I could hear the panic in her voice. Damon car was suddenly at the side of Caroline's. It was a faster car I have to admit and it easily sped infront of us. It started raining as we continued to chase the Range Rover up ahead a large gap between all the cars when it started to rain. Me, Bonnie, Tyler, Matt and Caroline were in Caroline's car. Damon, Stefan and Alaric were in Damon's and Jeremy couldn't keep driving forever he'd have to stop to sleep or eat at some point. 

Thunder and lightening started but nobody pained it any mind except Caroline since she was driving. Everyone was tapping  their feet's impatiently even though there was nothing anyone could do except watch the trees pass by as Caroline sped down the road. Until our path was blocked. 

"Look out!!" Shouted Bonnie as Caroline slammed on the brakes, thank god for seat belts, when a tree fell into the toad after being struck down by lightening. 

"No no no no no!!" I Shouted and got out of the car, not that it would help but for some reason I didn't it anyway. "Noo god nooo shit!!" I screamed at the tree as Caroline came to try get me back into the car. "No Care I'm not getting back in that stupid car!!" 

"Elena there is nothing we can do except wait Okay so there is t any point in you getting sick when we may need to go quickly if we can get to where ever Jeremy stops by going a different route" she said to me calmly and I nodded and we got back into the car. Bonnie leaned forward handing me a blanket which I accepted with a small smile. 

"How long do you think it will be before he stops?" Matt asked us and we all knew the answer really. 

"Jeremy's stubborn, wouldn't surprise if he didn't stop until he ran out of petrol" replies Bonnie before we all went back to staring at the tree in the road blocking anyone from going either direction, in or out of town along this road.

Damon POV 

"Why can't the little shit just stop the car so he can think rationally?" I ground out annoyed at the Little Gilbert in the car ahead of us. I heard Stefan sigh and I knew he'd try be some sort of voice of reason. 

"He lost his only chance to get back to his wife and children how would you feel if that was you?" He said and I sighed, told you'd he'd try be the angel on my shoulder compared to the me shaped devil on the other one. 

"Well he can marry someone else and pop out some more babies what's the issue I mean has he not heard of adoption?" I shouting honking the horn to try get Jeremy's attention so he'd stop the damn car, he only drove faster. 

"Damon" Said Alaric in a calm voice like he was going to give me advice so I turned to him. "Your a dick" 

"Oh thank you for that wonderful advice Ric, so helpful" I snarked as we watched Jeremy turned a corner a little too fast. "Kids going to get himself killed" I muttered as we turned the corner just in time to see it. 

"Jeremy!!! Noooo!!" We all shouted in unison.

Caroline POV 

We'd been waiting for about 30 minutes when I got a phone call. I expected one of the guys in Damon's car but not was my mom so I andwerednwith a displeased sigh. 

"Hey mom I can't talk now there something going on with Jerem—" and that was as far as I'd gotten. 

"You should really drive you and everyone else to the hospital Caroline, now" said my mom in an urgent and saddened tone. 

"Mom What's going on?" I asked her as I turned the key in the ignition to start the car. 

"Just get here quickly" and with that she hung up and I put my phone down. 

"Care What's going on?" Asked Tyler as I turned the car around and started speeding back into town. 

"I don't know" I answered with fear in my voice and eyes. "I don't know"

Third Person POV 

And the teens ran into the hospital when they'd finally arrived. Officers seemed saddened and they saw Stefan, Damon and Alaric say in chairs with distant expressions all soaked from the rain, or was it something else? 

"Mom! Mom what happened?" Shouted Caroline when she'd caught sight of the Sheriff. 

"I'm so sorry Elena" said the Sheriff to the young Gilbert girl who seemed panicked. 

"Why? Sheriff Forbes please just Why what happened?" She asked although she'd already guessed. She'd put the pieces together, it was raining, Jeremy was driving too fast, they were driving towards Wickery Bridge and she saw a body bag in the back of an ambulance being prepared to be carried inside. 

"Jeremy's car drive off of Wickery Bridge, Stefan and Damon tried to dive in to save him but it was too late. His neck snapped when the car hit the water" she said and water ran down her face, it wasn't rain. "He wasn't in any pain when it happened" 

"He's with them now I guess" Said the term who'd just found out the last of her family was dead. "He got what he wanted"
