an injustice

i've recently been told that the medication (that i've been taking for almost 2 years now) i take for my acne is produced with gelatin. The drug is lymecycline. i've taken it every single day. EVERY DAY. i've been 'vegetarian' since i was 13. I was not informed by my DOCTOR, who is an authoritative role, controlling what medications i take to  ensure i am HEALTHY, that the medication was made with gelatin capsules. It's written in the leaflet, so small that i've never noticed it before now.

I'm so unhappy; my doctor didn't ask if i were vegetarian. he asked for my allergies, doubled checked if i could take the medication, ensured it wouldn't interfere with my other meds. but he didn't ask if i was vegetarian. i'm completely against consuming animal produce (i'm hoping to become vegan once i leave home) why was i not informed? how did he come to the assumption that i ate meat? why didn't he ask? its so so easy to ask. there's other medication that i could've taken.

i would change my doctor but this happens to so many people. stop! making! assumptions! !!!!! please!!! just fucking ask! its a moral obligation to fucking ask! it applies to everything. i'm so genuinely ashamed that i didn't know of this before. i don't even know how to deal with this
