Logan was fidgeting as he stood waiting under a tree in the park. It was he and his boyfriend's favorite tree, as it often flowered in the spring. Patton loved to make flower crowns out of them while they relaxed together in the shade.

This evening was their first year anniversary, and something was on Logan's mind. He and Patton had never kissed. Something he'd made clear at the beginning of their relationship was that he wasn't good at being affectionate. It wasn't supposed to mean he didn't want to, but for him it just felt awkward to hug or hold someone's hand.

The hand holding became more natural for them within the first couple months, and they would spend entire nights watching movies on the couch cuddling once he was comfortable with it. However they still had not had their first kiss, after an entire year of being together.

It being their anniversary reminded Logan of this, making him become paranoid. He began to fear he wasn't living up to Patton's standards, that he didn't even want to kiss him at this point, that he was going to break up with him. He knew they were all irrational fears, but it didn't stop them from invading his mind. They continued to assault his confidence as he stood under their tree and awaited his boyfriend's arrival.

Patton was running towards him not even two minutes later, greeting him with a tight hug. "Happy One Year Anniversary Lo!" he said, giggling happily by his ear. He pulled away to smile brightly at him. "I can't believe it's been a full year since I asked you out!"

"Yes, well... you know they say: time flies, so to speak," Logan replied, offering a nervous smile as they stood together. "I know we usually sit here, but I was going to suggest that we maybe go for a walk this time?"

His boyfriend nodded, eyes bright and sparkling. "Sure! Whatever you want Logan!" he replied, slipping his hand into his and squeezing it affectionately.

He smiled more now as he looked at their hands and began walking down the path. Patton swung them back at forth, smiling at him when there wasn't anything really to smile about. Logan was incredibly nervous as they walked, attempting to psych himself up for what he was planning to ask. He was just about to when it began to rain.

Patton let out a squeak as the rain soaked them, still smiling as Logan led them back to the tree that would provide him some cover. "So much for walking," the still smiling Patton said, giggling a little as he watched the rain. Logan took a deep breath, unable to take his eyes off of him. His hair was now wet, a few strands hanging in front of his glasses and dripping, but the water added a shimmer to his skin that was hard to look away from. He eventually noticed the staring, turning to face him with a slightly concerned look on his face. "Hey, you've been acting a little tense, are you okay?"

"Can I kiss you?!"

He blurted it out before he could stop himself, feeling his own eyes widen as Patton's did. His boyfriend's mouth dropped open slightly in shock before it formed the most joyful expression he'd seen all evening. "I've been waiting for you to ask," he said, making Logan sigh in relief.

Taking a deep breath, he then leaned into his boyfriend's space to place a gentle kiss on his soft and slightly wet lips. They both smiled as they pulled away, interlocking their fingers as they leaned into one another.

"Sorry for making you wait so long," he murmured into his ear as Patton smiled.
