The world seemed to be moving in slow motion around him as he looked up at the sky. Sunlight was soaking into his cheeks as he exhaled, his breath condensing in front of him do to his elevation. Roman's wings were spread behind him and the air was flowing through each of his colorful feathers. A smile formed on his lips as he let himself fall backwards toward the earth, catching himself as he neared the ground and soaring to a graceful landing.

His friends looked up as he approached them with a grin. "God, I love flying," he told them as he stretched his wings for the sun to warm. "It's just so freeing, what are you two doing just sitting here? This is the one day in the entire month we get to come out here and you're spending in on the ground!"

"We're relaxing with out wings out," Logan corrected, smiling at his boyfriend who snuggled closer to his chest. His smaller blue jay wings were curled around the necktie wearing Tenshi's waist while his larger grey macaw wings were spread and loosely circling them. "It's a pleasant day to relax in the shade."

Roman rolled his eyes, fluttering up into the air a little. "You can do that at home, but today's the only day we can come out here this month to fly," he continued to scold them before shooting into the air again.

As Tenshi folk, they weren't allowed to fly except for designated areas. They weren't even allowed to have their wings in their visible state in public. This park was one of the areas they could stretch them and fly, but because the three of them were so busy, they couldn't visit it often. They were lucky to be able to come out to the park once a month, so the princely Tenshi was going to make the most of being able to spread his wings.

Patton giggled a little as their friend flew away again, perfectly comfortable and content laying with his boyfriend under a large oak tree. "I love this," he said to him, leaning into his chest to breathe in the fresh scent of his cologne. "I love you!"

"I love you too," Logan replied with a small laugh at how adorable he was.

As the two of them continued to relax together, Roman spiraled through the air. His wings were based on those of a scarlet macaw, beautiful hues of red, yellow, and blue illuminated under the light of the sun. There were other Tenshi folk smiling at him as he flew by. They were a friendly people, and considering they all faced restrictions on their freedom, they understood one another's joy to be flying.

He grinned, just letting the wind blow through his hair until someone suddenly someone shot passed him. "Whoa," he gasped, breaking in air to look around for whoever it was. The Tenshi around him weren't flying fast, so he was confused until a shadow moved over him. Roman looked up, seeing someone hovering above him, blocking the sun where they were for a moment before spiraling away gracefully. His wings shown purple and his black clothing stood out in comparison to the majority of lightly dressed folk in the park. The darkly dressed Tenshi made his heart race. "Wow..."

He flapped his wings to follow him, purposely swirling around him to get his attention. The stranger fluttered to a hover as he looked at him in confusion.

"Hey, my name's Roman," he said, offering a smile. He looked at him with a raised eyebrow, making him flush with embarrassment. "I was just wondering what bird your wings are from, I've never seen bright purple wings before."

"They're of a violet-backed starling," he replied, looking down bashfully.

The princely Tenshi smiled. "That's cool! What's your name?" he asked, hoping he didn't seem too pushy. He looked at him in shock, sudden defiance appearing in his gaze and body language as he puffed out his chest.

"None of your business."

Before Roman could say anything else, the purple winged Tenshi darted away at incredible speeds. He watched him go wistfully, curious and entranced. There was something about him that made him smile and follow him. Once he'd caught up to him, he flew beside him with a bright grin.

"So why don't you wanna tell me?" he asked, tilting his head as the darkly dressed Tenshi looked at him in shock.

"Because it's none of your business," he snapped, diving downward toward trees below them.

Roman followed determinedly, feeling his heart rate increasing with adrenaline as he dove after him. "How about this," he called over the wind as they soared downwards. "We race each other to that big oak tree, and if I win you have to tell me your name. If you win, I'll leave you alone. Deal?"

"Deal," he sneered, launching forward to weave through the trees.

The princely Tenshi smirked, following him and effortlessly gaining ground as his larger, stronger wings pumped. He passed him and flashed him a wink as he spiraled toward the oak tree. He dove down and touched the trunk, letting out a shout of triumph. The stranger had a look of disbelief and awe on his face as he fluttered back over to him.

"I won, so what's your name?" he asked breathlessly.

He shifted uncomfortably, looking disappointed that he'd lost. "It's Virgil..." he mumbled almost inaudibly. Roman's heart lurched, grinning as he fluttered a little closer to him. "There, satisfied?"

"I'd be must more satisfied if you gave me your number," he said hopefully. Virgil's eyes were wide as he looked at him in shock. With a grin, he reached into his pocket, finding a pen and taking his arm. "Okay, I'll give you mine, and it's up to you whether or not you decide to call me, but I will be very sad if you don't."

He looked mystified as Roman pulled away. "I'll hopefully see you around?" he called, waving as he flew back to his friends with his heart racing and a huge grin on his face.

Virgil watched him go, looking down at the number on his wrist with a little smile as he flew in the opposite direction, sneaking glances in the red winged Tenshi's direction as they grew further apart. He secretly hoped they wouldn't be apart for too long.
