Logan had no idea why he put up with Roman Prince. He was dramatic, emotional, prideful, and a little bit of a prick sometimes. Yet, they were best friends, practically inseparable; others probably thought they were secretly dating or something, especially with their constant bickering back and forth.

Contrary to this pair, another unlikely couple of friends was the ever enthusiastic and outgoing Patton Valentine and social outcast and proud emo Virgil Black. While the former was friendly and happy to converse, the latter preferred to draw and stay mostly silent.

It seemed it was only fitting that the pairs would fall in love with each other.

Logan Sharp was a bit of anti-social person. It wasn't that he didn't feel comfortable with socializing or making friends; it was simply that he wanted to enjoy being alone and in peace. For example, he spent most of his study hall period in the library, where a few other kids that would be deemed nerds would talk or read. It was always the same kids, so Logan looked up in surprise when someone burst into the library in a hurry.

"Oh! Sorry!" Patton gasped out an apology as everyone turned to look at him. "Sorry, sorry, I'm just gonna go work over there, I'll be quiet."

He smiled and then made his way toward Logan who was sitting in a chair at a round table with his book. He sat down across from him, meeting his eyes and smiling brightly at him. "Hi! I'm Patton," he said, voice much quieter than when he'd first entered the library but just as excited. "What are you reading?"

"Uh, I'm rereading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie," he replied, nodding to the cover.

"Oh! That's cool, I'll let you read now," Patton said with a smile, opening his notebook to study. Logan did continue to read in peace for a few more minutes, but soon he was being tapped on the shoulder by the other boy. "Um, sorry to bother you, but do you have biology?"

He looked at him, raising an eyebrow. "I had it last year," he said slowly.

The other boy got an expression of relief on his face at his words and quickly scooted over to sit closer to him. "Could you maybe help me with this? I don't really know if I'm doing the right thing," he admitted.

Putting down his book, Logan took a look at the assignment he was holding. Most of his responses so far were correct, but as he got further down the page, it became clear that he was struggling to find the right answers. He glanced up at the boy's desperate gaze and felt his breath catch in his throat.

"Okay, this answer's wrong," he said, pointing to it. Patton frowned, but sighed as though he'd expected that. "You're close, you've just gotta reread the fourth paragraph. It says the answer, right there."

He'd flipped the paper over to the reading that went with the questions he was answering and was pointing to the paragraph. The boy took the paper from him and reread it, gasping.

"Oh! I see it now! Thanks!" he said, flipping the paper back over and quickly writing the correct answer.

Logan felt his stomach flip for some odd reason upon seeing his smile directed at him. He returned to reading his book, only getting interrupted a couple times by Patton when he got stuck again, but by the end of the period the boy was finished with the assignment and beaming happily as they stood up to leave the library.

"Thanks so much for your help," he said gratefully, smiling at him as they walked side-by-side. "I wouldn't have been able to finish it without you. I'm Patton by the way."
