I posted this on my Writer To Reader book, but not many of my followers actually read that, so I'm posting it here as well to try and get this to have a bit more of an impact.

Hey guys!! I'm starting a new series on Pippin's YouTube channel called Death's Writing Tips! Here's how it works:

1. You guys are going to pick a story of your own you want me to take a look at. This would preferably be a one shot but it could be a chapter of a book you're working on as well.

2. You're going to email me a word document with your story copied and pasted into it. I'll list my email below.

3. In your email, you should include whether you want to be anonymous, your username on here if you're okay with it being displayed, and maybe a note for me on what you'd like me to focus on the most.

4. I'll film a video going through your writing and editing it on my copy of your story. I'll read it out loud as you wrote it, then go through and make changes while explaining the changes I make, then read it out loud with those changes so you can see the improvement!

Sounds pretty simple, right? Why am I doing this?

People constantly message me to take a look at their stories and critic their writing and I just don't have the time to do that for everyone who asks me to for no reason other than kindness. It would get chaotic, people commenting on my stories, DMing me, or posting on my profile about getting my help and advice. As much as I appreciate that people want my help, it wouldn't be possible for me to get to everyone with equal opportunity and while in a positive mindset.

This way, I can control the source of the submissions and set a specific criteria for them to avoid chaos. It'll also be much easier to explain my thought process vocally rather than through typing out explanations, AND it gives Pippin a fun series to put on her channel!

That all being explained, here's the criteria for submitting me your story:

1. Must be at least 300 words in length but no longer than 1000 words.
If I got sent a bunch of 10,000 word stories, I'd never get through them all, and the same goes for a bunch of mini stories of 150 words.

2. It can be fanfiction or original character work, but if it's fanfiction, make sure it's for one of the fandoms I've listed in my bio.
If you sent me Supernatural fanfiction asking for me to help you work on your character descriptions, I wouldn't be able to tell you a thing that would be helpful because I don't watch Supernatural. All the fandoms I'm interested in are found in my bio, so if you want to send me a fanfiction one shot, make sure it's one of those so I'll actually know the context of the story.

3. No explicit sexual content!
I'm not a smut writer. Though I may read it from time to time when it comes up in books I'm enjoying, I don't want to read it for the hell of it and certainly don't want to talk about how to write it, especially since I steer away from writing it myself. You can get a bit heated, but anything that goes into getting boners is too far.

4. Make sure it makes sense!
I can't read every single book that people send me if they decide to send me a chapter selected from it, so if you decide to send me a chapter, you've got to make sure it makes sense even outside the book itself.

5. Don't include any trigger warnings.
I include sensitive subjects in my writing, but I put trigger warnings at the top of each chapter or one shot that may involve them so people can skip them if needed. I personally don't feel comfortable trying to help write a rape scene or an abuse scene because that's something that I have to tap into a dark mindset to write and I just don't want to go down that road for a writing tips video.

That's all the criteria, but there's a couple important things to remember:

If you're sending me your writing, please have patience for me to get around to filming the actual video and have an open mind about my edits and advise. I'm not the only good writer on the planet and I'm certainly no expert, but I can help you avoid some of the problems that newer or inexperienced writers happen to run into.

I'm not trying to drag you down either. There's no real nice way to say it but when you're starting out as a writer, it can be bad. I mean, I've taken down an entire Phan One Shot book from my profile because of how bad it was, so I've been there, and now I'm trying to help you get out of there too.

I'm pretty sure that's everything so I look forward to reading your works and helping you fulfill your potential as writers! My email is listed below if you'd like to send me your work!
