A/N: This doesn't follow the plot of DEH, it's just the song is pretty and I'm really too tired to work on one of the requests. Also I know this has been done, but that's not why I'm doing it, I just really want to.
Sorry it's so short btw, I'm really exhausted, but I've got more one shots in the works that I promise I'm working on.
Roman let out a sigh as he slumped against the couch of the common room. The moral Side, who had been sitting across from him, looked up curiously. He looked bummed out by something, or as though something was bothering him.
"Hey kiddo, what's up?" he asked him.
The princely Side sighed again, looking over at him with a dejected look in his eyes. "Every time I've tried to talk to Virgil lately, he's busy with something or other," he explained. "I just feel he still hates me or something..."
"What? Why would you say that?" Patton questioned, alarmed and worried as he crossed the room to sit down beside him.
Roman just shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair. His whole body seemed tense and he looked like he didn't feel comfortable talking about this. The fatherly Side put an encouraging hand on his shoulder. "I don't know, he's just... it's not like he's ever had anything good to say about me."
"Are you kidding?" he replied, chuckling. "He thinks you're awesome!"
"He thinks I'm awesome? Virgil?" the princely Side asked skeptically.
"Definitely!" Patton said. He smiled, but Roman just sighed and looked unconvinced by his statement. "Well... he said, 'There's nothing like your smile, sort of subtle and perfect and real. ' He said, 'You never knew how wonderful that smile could make someone feel'."
The prince stopped, looking up at him in shock. "Wait, really? In those words?"
"Oh yeah, it was really cute, he was quoting Dear Evan Hansen the other day when we were talking," he said with a bright grin. Roman's eyes widened as though he was believing him a little more. "He was saying how he wished he could talk to you, but that you were a million worlds apart, just like that song. It was adorable!"
"So... he likes me?" he breathed, looking ecstatic. Patton nodded. "I've gotta talk to him!"
The moral Side watched happily as he leapt from the couch and started walking with purpose toward the anxious Side's room. He smiled to himself and hummed the song under his breath as he himself headed back to his own.
