A/N: I'm just trying to mix things up with the ships to make this a more diverse book. I know you guys prefer Prinxiety though, it shows in the votes and comments, the Logicality ones don't even come close to the number of votes the Prinxiety ones get, and the No Ship one I posted was even less than that, so I know how y'all feel about this I guess. There's one problem with being roommates with a boy who likes horror movies. Patton does not like them at all; they scare him while they're playing, they freak him out later, and sometimes, when he's very unlucky, he gets nightmares. When you live with a person who likes them, you're at a risk of coming home to your apartment to see a person getting their guts ripped out or an exorcism with demons and possession. He did not like it.
That being said, he didn't want to tell Virgil this. One of his favorite things to do was watch his favorite horror movies with him. Patton was happy that he wanted to spend time with him, but he really wished they could find something else they had "in common".
Usually, he didn't get so scared that it became noticeable, but tonight this was different. Virgil had picked an old horror movie that he'd explained was one of his favorites of all time. "Oh! What movie is it?" he'd asked, smiling forcefully to convince his roommate he was pleased by the idea of watching a horror film.
"Halloween!" he'd replied, chuckling deviously as he grinned. "Michael Myers is one of the greatest killers of all time."
Patton had nodded and chuckled humorlessly as he sat down on the couch a few feet away from him. The movie started out alright, he thought, just two teens watching a movie, then he had to watch the murder of the girl from first person point of view and then it was revealed that it was a CHILD that had killed her. The child became Michael Myers, obviously, but Patton was kinda freaked out now. He watched it anyway, wanting to enjoy spending time with Virgil. He was starting to wish he hadn't by the time they got to the other murders though.
The problem with Halloween, Patton found, was that it was too plausible. The idea of a man breaking and entering a house and stabbing someone was technically something that could happen in reality. After a few kills, he was literally trembling against the couch.
"Patton? Are you alright?" Virgil asked him, pausing the movie to look toward him with concerned eyes. He nodded, but it was clear that he was lying. The other boy reached across to take his hand, eyes widening even more. "Oh my god, you're shaking like a leaf, what's wrong, Patton?"
He shook his head. "No, n-nothing," he tried to say, but Virgil could see through him. "It's just the movie... it's scaring me a little..."
"I thought you liked horror movies?" he replied in confusion. Patton felt his cheeks flush with embarrassment, as he'd been caught. He looked down at the couch beneath their hands, hoping he wouldn't ask anymore questions. "Oh... you don't actually like horror movies, do you?"
Looking up with wide eyes, Virgil smiled a little. "You were just saying you liked them to watch them with me, weren't you?" he asked knowingly. He flushed even redder as he nodded, burying is face in his hands as the boy in front of him began to laugh. "Pat! You could've just told me! We could've just watched a Disney movie or something!"
"I know, I know, but you like horror movies so much!" Patton argued, pouting.
"It's fine! I can watch them alone or with Logan whenever he visits!" he replied, rubbing circles into his hand comfortingly. The cardigan wearing man was still protesting, so Virgil leaned over and kissed him gently on the cheek to get him to shut up. He pulled back and smiled at his awed expression. "It doesn't matter what I watch. All that matters is that who I'm with."
He blushed and smiled gratefully at the other boy as he returned to Netflix, pulling up She-Ra Season 1 instead.
