★・・・・・・★ ・・・・・・★I placed my favorite picnic blanket down on the ground, a smile appearing on my face. I gently planted the picnic basket in the middle of the blanket, sitting down beside it and waited for Thomas. He was coming from work, since he worked extra hours this week for the entire weekend off, including Monday and Tuesday as well. I smiled as I saw a figure running towards where I sat, sitting up straighter as I recognized the giant poof on his head.
"Jemmy!" Thomas called, running faster towards where I sat.
"Hi, Thomas," I quietly reply, watching him slow down and stop in front of the blanket. "I set up a picnic, if you want to eat."
"I would love to," he sat down in front of me as I dug through the basket, pulling out plates and meals I had packed.
"I knew you had a long day at work, so I packed some red wine," I held it up, taking two glasses out of the basket carefully. "I know you hate white wine and this is, I think, your favorite wine that isn't too expensive."
Thomas smiled and kissed my cheek. "It's perfect," he took the bottle and opened it, pouring our glasses as I took out the rest of the food. "Thank you, Jem. I really don't deserve you."
I smiled and watched him take a sip of wine. "I think the opposite, actually."
"What? Why?" He looked quite shocked and confused.
"Well, you're so kind to me and you deal with all my problems that I have," I began, taking my glass of wine and playing with it by twirling the liquid inside of it. "You also work quite hard at work, then you come home to me."
"Oh Jem," he placed his hand on mine. "I love you. You deserve the world and more. Yes, sometimes you go through a rough patch, but so do I. I want to be there for you when you have those tough times."
I couldn't help but glance at him adoringly. "I love you, too," I murmur.
"Now let's eat! I'm starving," Thomas grabbed a plate and I laughed, watching him take many spoonfuls of all of the food I had set out.

I held the box in my hand gently, trying to open the apartment door without making too much noise. "James? Is that you?" I heard from inside the apartment.
I tensed up, looking down at the box that was supposed to be Thomas' gift for his birthday coming up. I noticed the door opened and I looked up at the Virginian who smirked at me. "H-Hi, Thomas."
"What's in the box, Jem?" He asked, watching as I slipped by him, into the apartment.
"Nothing to be concerned of," I tell him, trying to retreat into our shared bedroom to try and hide it.
A taller figure stepped in front of me and I looked at him, unsure of how else to escape this. "James, you're hiding something from me. What is it?"
I heard a small noise come from the box and my face heated up from embarrassment. I let Thomas open the box and a little white fluff of fur popped out, meowing once. "Surprise," I murmur, letting him take the cat from the box.
