Days later the team had crafted a plan to reattack the Hydra base in hopes of bringing Y/N home and another Hydra base down. The team stormed the base again and quickly took control, only to realize that Y/N had been moved to an unknown location. More time went by, and Steve only grew more worried about Y/N, about where she was, how she was.
Steve had managed to spend hours in his office, it was then that he saw what Y/N was working on before the mission. Steve barged into Tony's lab, "I figured it out," he blurted.
Tony turned to him, confused. "Figured out what exactly?" he asked.
"Where they're holding Y/N, and a plan to get her out," he explained.
Tony nodded, "Do tell."
"Okay, Y/N was using the data we stole from the last Hydra base. I looked at what she was doing and she found a shared communications channel between the bases, studying that I found out where they're keeping her," he said handing Tony a tablet with the location. "She's only a few miles from the original base," he added.
"Okay, what's your plan to extract her?"
Steve sighed, "You're not going to like it. But you let me get captured, I go in alone I put up a fight, they capture me-"
"No," Tony interrupted. "That plan sounds terrible, we're not going to risk losing you too."
"Just hear me out," Steve pleaded. "If they capture me, I get in on the inside. Then you and the team storm the outside. That will draw security out to you, leaving me practically unguarded. I break free and find Y/N. Then we take down the base and head home...all of us head home," Steve explained.
Tony sighed, pondering the idea for a moment, "Okay, but the minute something even looks like it's going to go wrong I'm stepping in," he added
"Trust me, Tony...please..."

The team was briefed on the mission, Sam decided to step in and help since he was already there. Steve did exactly as planned. He approached a heavily guarded outside entrance and put up a poor fight, easily getting himself captured.
Although he did take a beating from the guards outside, they drug him through the halls and into a dark, empty room, the only thing inside was a metal chair. Steve soon found himself tied to the said metal chair.
A man walked into the room, presumably the head of the base. "Welcome, Captain America," he greeted with a thick Russian accent. "I assume this is your little rescue attempt to save your girlfriend?"
Steve chuckled, "If you're trying to intimidate me, you're doing a pretty poor job."
The man walked forward and punched Steve in the face, not hesitating to do it again. "And how do you know we haven't crafted another Winter Soldier out of your friend?" he asked.
Steve spat some blood out of his mouth at the man, "Because you're not smart enough to. Besides, something like that takes months, not four weeks."
The man smirked, "True, but you'd be surprised by what we can accomplish in four weeks, how we can break a person...You thought you could save her, why? Because you're special...you are nothing, and Hydra will prove that to the world."
Steve smiled, "You're right, I'm just a kid from Brooklyn."
Steve knew that he had wasted enough time, he heard Tony storm the base through his comms, an alarm began sounding in the facility. Steve smirked, "I think that's your cue to leave," he said, however, the man hesitated to leave.
