Y/N had tried to make her way out of the base and back to the jet, but that feat proved to be more difficult than originally intended.

Especially once she found herself trapped between four massive guards, no training, no exercise, nothing could have saved her...except for maybe someone...

Y/N fought back again, and again, but each time she was deftly deflected, tossed aside, pinned, knocked back as if her attacks and all of her training was worth nothing. She was injured, and she wasn't strong enough to take on all of Hydra's men alone...but she wasn't alone...

Outside, Steve sprinted towards the base. Every part of him was focused on Y/N and bringing her home safely. However, after the initial attack, Hydra had originally retreated, but only to return with dozens of troops, all of them prepared to hunt down the super soldiers.

Steve made his way through the base, but it wasn't long before the agents caught up to him and pinned him down. Steve didn't resist, he knew that these agents could lead him to Y/N. Steve quickly found himself restrained and being led around by a group of armed guards, that's when he saw Y/N.

Y/N struggled against the grip the agents had on her, Steve did the same until he eventually broke free. He ran to Y/N's side, immediately cupping her face in his hands.

"Y/N, are you okay?" he asked urgently.

Y/N could tell he was worried, "Just peachy," she replied sarcastically as another swarm of agents arrived to separate the two.

Steve shouted at them, but it was useless, no help was coming to their aid anytime soon.

A pair of all too familiar footsteps caused everyone to halt in silence. "Rogers, Y/L/N, long time no see," Rumlow spoke, his voice as menacing as ever.

Steve saw the fear in Y/N's expression, she mouthed an 'I love you' to him, something he reciprocated as Rumlow drew closer.

"Come on," Rumlow said punching Steve in the shoulder. "Is that any way to greet an old friend."

Steve's jaw tensed as he turned towards Rumlow, "We were never friends," he said sternly.

Rumlow paused for a moment, he was feeling slightly amused by Steve's anger. "Take them to interrogation, put them together," he ordered before he left.

Y/N was being dragged along by a pair of guards, Steve just in front of her as they entered a cold, darkroom. There were no windows, barely any light, definitely no hope to be found...

Both soldiers were sat down facing each other, each of them restrained to a metal chair. Steve waited until the guards had left to speak.

"How's the leg?" he asked.

Y/N smirked half-heartedly. "Painful, thanks for asking," she answered truthfully as she winced in pain. Steve had tied a makeshift tourniquet and bandage around her leg, but they could only do so much against a bullet wound.

"I should've stayed with you," Steve spoke up after a few moments had passed. Regret was written all over his face.

Y/N shook her head, "If you had then we'd both be dead right now."

"You don't know that," Steve interjected.

"Believe me," Y/N told him. "The odds were pretty high then, and they still are."

"We're going to get out of here, I promise," he told her. Steve looked around the room, for any sign of hope that there may be a way to escape. But there was only one way in, and one way out. He struggled against his restraints, but those too seemed to be unbeatable.
