Hours later the group of heroes landed in Wakanda and began walking down the ramp of the quinjet towards the Wakandan Palace together.

"We should go find T'Challa, I sent him a message on the jet, notifying him that we were on our way," Y/N informed everyone. Steve silently nodded in agreement with Y/N as the group entered the palace.

The group was instantly greeted by many of Wakanda's finest warriors. "Welcome back..."

Steve and Y/N met with T'Challa while the others entered a medical facility within the palace. "Welcome back," T'Challa greeted. "I didn't expect to see you again so soon."

"We didn't expect to be back so soon," Y/N replied.

"We're sorry about putting this on you so last minute," Steve added.

T'Challa shook his head, "You do not owe me an apology," he assured the pair. "Wakanda will always be a safe haven for you and your friends," he added as he led Steve and Y/N into the same room that the others were in.

Inside the group had met with Rhodey, who had come in just before the others. Everyone was being informed on the situation at hand including Vision, Natasha, and Wanda also joined in and were filled in on the situation. Bruce and Sam stood to the side, trying to understand the situation.

Natasha filled Y/N in on Vision's current condition, he and Wanda had been attacked by the same aliens that had come after the Time Stone in New York. And now, Vision was facing some serious injuries.

"So we gotta assume they're coming back, right?" Rhodes asked, pulling everyone from their thoughts.

"And they can clearly find us," Wanda added.

Sam stood by Y/N and noticed the odd glances that Nat and Bruce were sharing, "This is awkward," he muttered to himself, however, Y/N was close enough to hear him.

She nudged him lightly in the arm before speaking up, "We need all hands on deck."

Bruce agreed, "Where's Clint?" he wondered.

Natasha sighed, "After the whole Accords situation, he and Scott took a deal. It was too tough on their families, they're on house arrest," she explained.

"Who's Scott?" Banner asked.

"Ant-man," Steve answered.

"There's an Ant-Man and a Spider-Man?" Bruce questioned. "Okay, look... Thanos has the biggest army in the universe. And he is not gonna stop until he...he gets...Vision's Stone."

Y/N stood tall, "Well then, we have to protect it," she concluded without a second thought.

The others had been brought up to speed on the situation in which Steve and Y/N had been sent into the past. "Y/N, you faced Thanos before, do you honestly think we can beat him?" Bruce asked.

"I know that I lost to him once, and I don't plan to do so again," Y/N answered. "We can protect the stone."

Vision shook his head, stepping forward slightly even in his injured state. "No, we have to destroy it. I've been giving a good deal of thought to this entity in my head, about its nature. But also, its composition. I think if it were exposed to a sufficiently powerful energy source, something, very similar to its own signature, perhaps... Its molecular integrity could fail," he explained as he looked down at Wanda.

"And you, with it. We're not having this conversation," Wanda protested.

"Eliminating the stone is the only way to be certain that Thanos can't get it," Vision argued.

Wanda disagreed, "That's too high a price," she told Vision.

"Only you have the power to pay it. Thanos threatens half the Universe. One life cannot stand in the way of defeating him," Vision countered.

"But it should," Steve chimed in as he looked towards Vision.

"We don't trade lives, Vision," Y/N added.

Vision approached both Steve and Y/N. "Captain, Y/N, 70 years ago, you both laid down your lives to save how many millions of people. Tell me, why is this any different?"

"Because it's what we were made to do," Y/N answered. "We were hardwired to make the sacrifice play. We were trained to lay down on the wire and let the other guy crawl over top of us. We were trained to jump on the grenade so that other people had a chance to live...the difference between your situation and ours, is that you have a choice...make the right one..."

Bruce nodded in agreement, "Your mind is made up of a complex construct of overlays. J.A.R.V.I.S., Ultron, Tony, me, the Stone. All of them mixed together. All of them learning from one another," he explained.

Wanda was intrigued by what Bruce said, "You're saying Vision isn't just the stone?" she asked.

"I'm saying that if we take out the stone, there's still a whole lot of Vision left. Perhaps the best parts."

"Can we do that?" Natasha asked.

T'Challa's sister Shuri stepped forward, "I can do it, I just need some time," she chimed in.

The team quickly split up, Wanda stayed with Vision while the other left to prepare themselves for Thanos's army that would arrive in no time.

Steve left with Y/N as they grabbed their gear and quickly suited up. Steve could see the worry in Y/N's expression, "We'll be okay," he spoke up as he moved to stand beside her.

Y/N sighed, "You don't know that, Steve," she replied.

"We just came back from the past, an alternate reality past at that," Steve reminded her. "I think we can handle whatever Thanos is going to try and throw at us."

Y/N shook her head, "We can't, Steve," she said turning to him with seriousness written in her eyes. "I was on Titan, I saw what he did there...he murdered his entire race, all because they didn't agree with his ideas. This isn't his responsibility, it's genocide..."

"Y/N-"

"Steve, we've never faced something as strong as him before," Y/N interrupted. "That army you fought in Wakanda, the one that we're going to fight, they're nothing compared to him with those Infinity Stones. I'm not sure we can beat him."

Steve looked down slightly, "We have to..."

"We can't, we'll lose," Y/N told him.

"Then we'll do it together," Steve replied.

Y/N met his worried gaze, "That might not be an option."

"Then we'll have to make it one..."

"Steve," Y/N said softly, trying to get him to see her point. Even with the team assembling, they were still seriously outmatched against Thanos.

"Y/N, I don't know if you've noticed, but we have faced some pretty terrible odds before. We've had some impossible feats along the way," Steve told her. "We'll make it through this," he said wrapping his arms around her.

"How can you be so sure?" she asked.

Steve pulled Y/N close to him, "Because I believe in us, and I believe in you," he said kissing the top of her head.

Y/N put her fingers under Steve's chin and gently pulled him in for a kiss. The two pulled away when they heard someone enter the room they were in.

"Do me a favor and keep it PG," Sam said as he sat down.

Y/N smirked, "No guarantees," she said reaching up and kissing Steve once more.
