Weeks later, Y/N, Steve, and the team had just completed a mission in Paris. The mission was successful and the team was happy. Even Y/N was beginning to seem more like herself, something that Steve noticed and was happy about.

He knew that the team splitting up was hard for her, and the fact that she was now on the run across Europe certainly didn't help. But Steve has something in the works that he thought would make Y/N feel better.

She had been happy the past couple of days, though Steve had something planned that he hoped would make Y/N even happier.

Y/N laughed as Steve held her hand and led her up another flight of stairs, "Steve, what are we doing?" she asked.

Steve remained silent about where they were going as he opened the door to the roof and revealed a perfectly planned night for the two. He had blankets laid out and candles lit; with food and wine not far away. "We are finally having a nice night to ourselves," Steve told her.

Y/N furrowed her brows, "I don't understand," she said as she stepped out onto the roof of the building that overlooked the city. Her eyes danced over the evening Steve had laid out for her. The stars were prominent in the sky up above.

"Sam helped me set this up," Steve said pointing out devices at the four corners of the building. "We are completely shielded from satellites and cameras, we are completely invisible up here..."

Y/N smiled slightly, turning to face Steve, "Why did you do all of this?" she wondered.

Steve shrugged, "Because I know it has been hard for you the past couple of weeks, we've been through a lot recently, and I am finally giving my wife what she deserves...a nice night out with her husband, no worries, no problems, no missions...just you and me, doll..."

"Steve this is too much," Y/N said as Steve wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Not for you it's not. You're my everything, and from my perspective, you deserve the whole world...Y/N, you are the best thing I never knew I needed."

Y/N blushed at Steve's sweet words, "This is amazing," she said snaking her arms around his neck, her fingers tugging gently at the ends of his hair.

"I mean it is slightly better than the bunker and the hotel rooms."

"Only slightly," Y/N joked.

Y/N enjoyed spending the rest of the night with Steve, he was right when he said it had been far too long since they had done something like this.

The night was perfect, Y/N had everything she needed, and for the first time in a long time, she felt normal, and it was all thanks to Steve.

Y/N was lying next to Steve on one of the many blankets he had laid out, she was happily snuggled into his side as the two gazed up at the stars in the sky.

Steve had his arms wrapped snug around Y/N. His cheek was resting against the top of her head as his eyes were fixed on the sky above the city.

Y/N lifted her head and looked up at Steve, "Thank you," she told him.

Steve looked down and furrowed his brows, "For what?" He wondered as he rolled onto his side to face Y/N.

"All of this," Y/N clarified as she met Steve's eyes. "I didn't realize how much I needed something like this until now," she admitted as she reached out and held Steve's hand.

Steve smiled as he gently played with Y/N fingers, "You don't have to thank me you know," he replied.

Y/N nodded slowly, "I know, but I feel like I do."
