"You're hanging around Yanjun a lot. You sure you don't have a crush on him or something," Xukun asked Scarlett as the two of them sat beside each other against the mirror of the dance room.

"Don't be crazy. Yanjun and I are just friends. Nothing more, nothing less. Plus, I told you all before. I prefer girls."

"That doesn't mean anything," he replied looking over to see her already looking at him. "You can say that as much as you want, but you can't choose who you fall for."

"I guess," Scar shrugged, exhaling as she saw Ruibin making his way over to them with a smile on his face. "What's up with you, Vin?"

"Well, Professor Chu was deciding on who was going to be partnered for the next dance project and turns out she put us as partners. Great, right," he asked her crouching down in front of her.

"Sounds cool," she nodded in agreement before glancing at the clock just above the exit. "We have thirty minutes, you want to decide on what we're doing?"

"Sure."

"Welp, I'll go. Don't want to distract you guys," Xukun winked at Scarlett while getting to his feet. With a nod to the other boy, he left to talk to the professor about his own partner.

"So, lets pick a song then," Scarlett smiled pulling her phone out of her pocket.

"Five and six, seven, eight," Scar counted as both of them went over the steps together.

It seemed Ruibin had already had a song in mind for the pair's dance and had some ideas. The two of them put a couple of the counts and moves together and were ahead of all the other pairs.

"One more time, with music," Scar asked after taking a step away from him while glancing at the clock that had told her it was the end of class.

"Let's do it," Ruibin nodded grabbing his phone. He quickly pressed play and put it back on the floor before going to her. He stood a couple steps behind her before the part of their song started and immediately they began their routine.

Outside, Yanjun walked up the path to the dance room with his phone in his hand and his other hand in his pocket.

Yanjun didn't have anything to do and he kept thinking about Scarlett. He hated how hurt she looked that night when the two of them were laying on her bed. She hadn't elaborated after what she said, but he didn't push her because it was clear how painful it was for her to even say that.

He then remembered how she was whining about how a new movie had come out, but she didn't want to watch it alone since she dislikes going to movies alone. She had asked Justin, but he was busy studying for tests and Xukun said he promised Ziyi to go to some competition to support him. She never asked Yanjun, but he wanted to take her since it seemed she really wanted to go.

When Yanjun got to the building, he pulled his hand out of his pocket and grabbed the cool metal handle.

Pulling the door open, his eyes instantly landed on two people who were close together.

Scarlett's arm was around Ruibin's neck while his arm was wrapped around her waist, pulling her close to his body. The two had their eyes on one another, Ruibin, with a smirk playing on his lips.

"Crimson," Yanjun called with his tongue poking the inside of his mouth as he watched Ruibin. Scarlett immediately pulled herself away from the boy and looked to see Yanjun standing right by the door.

He was wearing black pants, a white t-shirt, a jean jacket, and a pair of white converse high tops.

"Yanjun," Ruibin smiled, tipping his head up to the older boy who was clearly irritated.

Yanjun looked away from him after glaring at him for a good second to see Scarlett throwing her bag over her shoulder.

"See ya, Vin," Scarlett smiled, waving at him as she went to Yanjun. "Tell Kunkun Yanjun picked up."

"Will do. See you tomorrow, Scar," he replied.

Yanjun pushed the door open, not saying anything and held the door for Scarlett before letting it go.

"Why're you mad," Scarlett asked as Yanjun walked beside her towards the front of the school where he parked. "You know, I always feel like you get mad."

"I'm not mad. I'm just confused," Yanjun claimed taking his keys out of his jacket pocket.

"Then what are you confused about," Scarlett turned her head to him. He didn't meet her eyes, he just looked forward.

"Just...nothing. It doesn't matter."
