Yanjun got up early the next morning and made sure to be quiet when he did. He knew Scarlett hadn't slept, yet again, and made it his duty to be ready if she stormed off like she had yesterday. Except this time, she wasn't going anywhere.
"You're not going to today's meeting," Yanjun stated immediately as Scarlett's bedroom door opened. To his surprised, she wasn't dressed and she looked like she just finished crying over an ex-boyfriend.
"I know. You...You're going to the meeting instead of me," she said making her way over to the table. She was wearing her silk pajamas that somehow matched his maroon tie and she had the comforter of her bed around her.
"Looks like you're not as stupid as I thought you were," he noted pouring her a glass of water before handing it to her. "Or did your dad order you not to go?"
"Just shut the hell up. I'm still angry at you, you dick," she snatched the liquid and downed it like a shot.
"Don't think I'm not mad at you too, Scarlett." He said walking past her and going into her room, when he came back he had her pills in his hand. "And you're taking these and sleeping while I'm gone. I'm going to make sure you take them too because you look horrible."
"Thanks, Captain Obvious."
Yanjun watched Scarlett eat her food as he ate his own then he made sure she took her pills. At this point, he didn't trust Scarlett to take them on her own, he had to treat her like a child.
"Don't try to throw them up or something," he said walking her back into her room that looked like a tornado hit it more than once.
"Yeah, whatever," she replied getting into the bed and saw him following her. "What the hell are you doing? Leave."
"You're so annoying," he said and placed a cup of water on her night stand as well as made sure her phone was sitting close to her, with the ringer on. He then fixed the comforter on her and made sure she was comfortable as she pouted watching him.
"You can leave now," she said looking away from him.
"Okay. Okay. I'm leaving," he muttered standing back and looking her over once. Her tired red eyes had dark bags under them, her lips were dry and a grayish color and her skin was much paler than usual.
She looks like a corpse.

Sweat beaded on Scarlett's forehead, her skin was hot like she had a fever, and her head pounded like a drum. She could hear music bouncing off the walls of the area above her.
Her vision seemed to be fuzzy, but she blinked it away, trying to focus herself. Gaining her sight again, Scarlett looked around the small room that was sideways to her. She saw there was only a red light that illuminated the room and there were tools all around her, some of them she'd never seen before. There was a small staircase diagonal from her that led to a door at the top and there was a light the seeped through from the bottom of the door.
Scarlett tried to sit up, but she couldn't seem to move. Her breaths came faster as she looked at herself and saw her hands and feet were tied with rope and the only thing covering her body were her undergarments.
A whimper escaped her as she tried to break herself out of the ropes, but they only burned her skin.
As Scarlett began to panic further, the smell of firewood and manure entered her nose and she knew exactly where she was. Her breaths came even faster, suddenly, she heard a squeak and looked to see the door of the room open. A tall figure seemed to be standing in the doorway and a deep raspy voice spoke.
"You're awake," he said coming in and closing the door behind him. She listened to the familiar rhythm of his footsteps as he made his way down the rickety old stairs. "Have you made your mind up yet?"
Scarlett didn't speak. Instead, she squeezed her eyes shut.
"Look at me, Xiulan," he said firmly. Scarlett did as he said and saw he had crouched down in front of her. His cold blue eyes piercing through her like a knife, he was skinny and dressed in dirty clothing. He smelt like drugs and alcohol like usual. "Have you made up your mind yet," he repeated.
She couldn't open her mouth, she was too scared.
"I'll take that as a no," he nodded with a sigh of disappointment. He acted like he was going to leave, but instead he slammed his fist into the wall beside her causing her to jump. He then roughly grabbed her by the arm and yanked her off the floor. He dragged her to the other wall that had racks and lifted her wrist to hook it onto a metal rack. "I was hoping you would accept, but either way you're going to be mine forever. Aren't you?"
"H-Hunter, please," she begged, finding her voice and trying to pull herself from the spot he placed her. She heard a squeak and the room suddenly became hotter. "Don't. Please."
"Everyone will know you're mine," he ignored her pleads and held a metal bar in the inferno of his grandparents old farmhouse heater. "I should've done this sooner so that Dongmin didn't have his hands on you."
"Hunter, this-this isn't you. P-Please, let me...let me go," she cried. Her heart was jumping out of her chest and her hands became a puddle.
"Can't do that, Xiulan. I love you too much to let you go. Now be a good girl and hold still."

Yanjun stepped out of the elevator, pulling out his key card after tucking his notes from the meeting, under his arm. The meeting had ended early because the business associate who was going to present didn't show up prepared. Yanjun was glad since it was getting boring.
He didn't understand how Scarlett could sit in those meetings and pay attention so well. Justin was lucky to have her be his future assistant since he had such a short attention span when it came to things like that.
Yanjun stopped at his and Scarlett's hotel room. He tapped the key card on the small scanner and pushed the door open when it turned green. The suite was how he left it and it seemed nothing had been moved.
Yanjun placed the papers on the table before shrugging off his jacket and throwing it onto the couch. He then turned to his bedroom door and loosened his tie. As he entered his room, he threw the tie onto his bed and stripped his clothes off to change into something more comfortable. However, the only thing he could get on were a pair of pajama pants because a high pitched scream rung through the air from the room beside him.
Yanjun bolted through the bathroom and tried opening Scarlett's bedroom door, but it was locked. He quickly maneuvered out of the bathroom, to his room and to the main entrance to her room, but yet again, it was locked. The scream didn't stop so instead of knocking on the door, Yanjun slammed his shoulder into the door, breaking it open.
His eyes searched around the room frantically and his eyes landed on Scarlett who was writhing, screaming in her sleep.
"Stop," she screamed, tears streaming down her face. Yanjun jumped onto her bed, grabbing her, trying to wake her up.
"Crimson! Crimson, wake up," Yanjun yelled trying to shake her awake. "Wake up!"
With a loud gasp, Scarlett's eyes snapped open. Her chest was rising and falling rapidly and her eyes searched around her, landing on Yanjun who looked relieved yet scared for her. He had never seen her like this and now seeing it, he felt like the world was going to end.
"Y-Yanjun," she said more like a question as tears began to cloud her vision. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I-I didn't..."
Yanjun didn't say anything. Instead, he pulled her into his chest and cradled her. Her skin was hot and her body was shaking uncontrollably. She fell apart in his arms, her sobs echoed in the room and her tears wet his skin like the rain.
"It's okay, Crimson. You're okay."
