third person pov
"We need to do something," Linkai said in the living room where everyone was except for Yanjun, Zhangjing, Justin, and Scarlett. Yanjun had already went to bed and Zhangjing followed a while after while Justin and Scarlett went out to hang out together. "I can't let this ship sink like the Titanic. Lives are at stake and no, I don't mean the food steak."
"M-Maybe we should let things work themselves out," Nongnong said, shyly. "Not that I don't want to help, but they've always gone back to one another."
"No way. I agree with Xiao Gui," Chengcheng stood up. "We can't just sit by and watch as our ship sinks, we've waited way too long and Justin is just being a little shit about it."
"Plus, they're really happy together. Yanjun hasn't been serious about an girl we've really met so I think we should give them a little nudge," Xukun added.
"I don't exactly like seeing Scarlett cry about Yanjun either and I think he tries really hard for her. They're obviously one of the best couples of my life so I think that we should fix the ship and get it sailing," Ziyi agreed. The only person in the room they needed to speak up was Zhengting who was quietly staring off into space.
"Mom, did you suddenly turn into a mute old lady or are you not saying anything for a dramatic entrance," Linkai asked, crossing his arms over his chest. Zhengting slowly came to and gave a sly smirk.
"I have an idea so yes, I agree to giving them a good shove."

"Where's Zhengting," Scarlett muttered, crossing her arms over her chest and tapping her fingers on her bicep. Xingjie, Yanchen, Qilian, and Ruolan (their group members) were all waiting on the side of the stage for their turn. The performance before theirs was almost done so they were up next and Zhengting hadn't showed up like he was supposed to fifteen minutes ago.
"Don't worry. He'll be here," Xingjie smiled towards Scarlett in a comforting way.
Just as the performance before them ended, they heard footsteps behind them.
"Hey, sorry I'm late," a familiar voice said. Scarlett and the others looked to see Yanjun wearing a coordinated outfit that matched Scarlett. The other couples were wearing all white while Scarlett wore a red skirt with a white top and Yanjun wore a red t-shirt with white pants.
"What the-where's Zhengting," she asked, taking a step away from him.
"He had a stomachache, let's go Crimson," Yanjun said and without hesitation, he grabbed her hand and pulled her on stage with him.
Scarlett wanted to run off stage, but eyes were already on them and she didn't want to make a big deal about it. However, she also didn't want to be near Yanjun.
"Don't worry. I won't let you fall," Yanjun whispered while placing his arms around her.
(Please watch the performance)

"You're a dick," Zhengting said looking to Justin who had quietly watched his sister and Yanjun's performance. "They obviously really like each other. Why do you not want them to be together? Don't you think you already took enough from Scarlett? She moved to America for the past six years to help you when you take over the business."
"That's why she needs someone better than Yanjun. He doesn't really like her. He just wants what he can't have. If I let them date then he would-"
"You shouldn't get to decide who's good for Scarlett. That's her own choice, but she's constantly making decisions with the thought of you and your feelings. Why can't you just see how happy she is with Jun-ge," Chengcheng spoke up, he hadn't spoken about the topic with Justin around, but it kept bothering him just like the other boys.
"I'm telling you she'll be fine without him. They'll be over it by next week," Justin crossed his arms signaling that he was done talking about it.
Scarlett walked off stage first, grabbing her bag off of the floor on the side of the stage. She wanted to get home as soon as she could so she could lock herself inside and stop herself from doing something stupid. Her footsteps pounded on the stairs as she moved down them, but she heard a voice call out for her, she ignored it.
She cut through the grass and made her way down a small slope to the side of the road where she had parked her car as near she could get to the stage so she could leave. She knew none of her friends were going to be performing that day so she planned to leave quickly. She heard Yanjun's footsteps and unlocked her car and pulled the door open before throwing her bag in.
"Crimson," Yanjun called, following after her. She didn't even look back to see him, but she wanted to. He knew she would act that way, but he didn't want her to. Even though he couldn't have her, he wanted to still see her smile and laugh. He wanted them to be friends even if it would be hard for him, but that was him being as selfish as he could with her.
"Scarlett," he said and to his surprise, she stopped. She clutched the keys in her hand and slammed her car door shut before turning and leaning against the car.
"What, Yanjun," Scarlett sighed, avoiding his eyes. Instead, she stared at the floor in front of her while messing with her keys in her hand. She squeezed the cold item in her hand, feeling the edges painfully pressing against her skin. She was better at handling physical pain rather than emotional pain. It was a bad habit of hers, but she did it because it distracted her.
"Would you please look at me," he begged, taking a step closer to her. Scarlett saw his shoes in front of her and hesitated, but looked at him. "I know Justin said we can't be together, but can't we at least be friends?"
Friends, Scarlett thought. Friends? How could I ever be friends with him? Why does it hurt so much?
"No," she said pushing off the car. Yanjun watched as she made her way around, but spoke.
"We were friends before, weren't we? So why can't we be friends?"
Scarlett bit her lips, trying to distract herself from the lump in her throat because she finally realized something.
"Because...I have to go."
