third person povScarlett ran a hand through her hair as she sat up in her bed. She had dark bags under her eyes and her eyes were red like she had been crying all night. She pushed off the bed then pulled open the curtain of her window and saw the sun starting to come up, telling her it was time for her to get ready for the day.
Thirty minutes later she was dressed in a white dress that showed her shape and reached to her knees. On her shoulders was a beige cropped coat and a matching pair of ankle strapped heels were on her feet. Today she straightened her long hair and pinned some pieces back and as for her make up she did a natural look. The makeup hid her tired eyes perfectly and her eyes were no longer red since she put eye drops in.
"Day six," she whispered to herself, exhaling. She threw her hair over her shoulder and looked in the mirror to make sure she looked okay. Just as she finished looking herself over, there was a knock on her door.
She quickly grabbed her small purse and charging phone before pulling the door open to see Yanjun drinking coffee and holding another in his hand.
"Morning, Crimson," he smiled after pulling the green straw from his lips and handing the other coffee to her. "I got breakfast on the table."
"Good morning. Thank you," she smiled taking it and drinking from the green straw as the two made their way to the table. "Mmm, it's good."
"Did you sleep well," Yanjun asked placing his coffee down and pulled a chair out for her. She took it and muttered a thank you before he took the chair left of her.
"Yes," she lied and began to eat her food, not wanting to speak anymore about it. "How about you?"
"I slept well...even though you weren't beside me."
"Trust me. You wouldn't sleep well next to me," she replied and continued eating.
"Why? You wouldn't be able to keep your hands off me, Crimson?"
She dropped her utensil on the table and gave him a look. "I didn't mean it like that, you idiot. Besides, it would be the other way around."
"You want to test that theory," he asked with a cheeky smile and she rolled her chocolate eyes at him.
"No, but I bet you do."
"Looks like you've won. Now what's your reward?" Scarlett laughed then puffed her cheeks with air as she thought of her reward although the two hadn't shaked on the whole thing.
"I want a sip of your coffee," she said eyeing the drink he had. He didn't argue, instead he grabbed the cold beverage and handed it to her. However, she didn't grab it. Instead she leaned over and took a sip as he held it between the two of them. Yanjun blinked at her as she sat back up, gulping down the sip she took. "It's good. Why is it better than mine?!"
"Probably because I flirted with the barista who made mine," Yanjun said taking a sip of the drink. Scarlett shook her head and took a bite of their food before replying to him.
"She would've made both drinks good then. I didn't go with you."
"I told her it was for my wife."
"I guess you wouldn't be a very good husband considering the fact that you'd flirt with a barista although you were married," Scarlett ignored the smirk that made his dimples visible.
"My apologies, Mrs. Lin," Yanjun's smirk turned into a bright contagious smile. "Would you like another drink of my coffee to make it up?"
"Don't call me that, you idiot," she laughed smacking his arm. "And no. I'm not giving you another indirect kiss."
"Then you want to give me a real kiss?"
"Shut up."

"You're getting the hang of this meeting stuff. I wonder how Justin will do," Yanjun said as the two left the room following after her father as usual. Hearing this, Scarlett's father looked over his shoulder at the two of them. Scarlett noticed and prayed that he didn't say anything about it.
God seemed to hear her prayer because he didn't say anything and spoke quietly with his assistant.
"I'm sure he'll be fine," Scarlett smiled up to Yanjun who nodded his head hesitantly. The four well dressed people came to the elevators where it wasn't so crowded since many people were in meetings. Scarlett was still very wary about it and stuck to her regular spot which Yanjun stood beside.
"Shall we go get some lunch," Mr. Huang asked them, ignoring the other people who were also in the elevator with them.
They couldn't say no to him, of course, which is how they ended up in an Italian restaurant in the city. Yanjun and Scarlett sat beside each other while her father and Mr. Qui sat on the other side.
"Xiulan," Mr. Huang said looking to the girl who had a mouth full of fettuccine alfredo. She swallowed the bite and wiped her mouth before he continued."Have you been taking your sleeping pills?"
Sleeping pills, Yanjun thought as she answered saying that she did. He'd never seen her take any pill before, but she did say she slept well so he didn't say anything.
"Also, Xiulan, you'll be meeting one of my associate's son tomorrow. Please dress nicely for this."
"Of course, Father. May I ask whose son I will be meeting?"
"Daniel Carreria's son Andrew Carreria," he replied and Scarlett hid her surprise. She met the guy once and he wasn't exactly the nicest person in the world. He was actually a total jerk who would always tease her about her love for music.
"I see," she muttered and returned eating her food. Scarlett didn't realize, but Yanjun was watching her and saw how her hands turned to fists under the table before she picked her fork up and ate.
He wanted to ask who this Andrew person was, but knew best. Instead, he picked up his fork and began to eat his food quietly.
As long as she's not going to marry him, I'm fine.
