Chapter 21

Going home never felt so good before, Inez thought to herself while she's sit on the couch with her mom watch their favourite local TV shows. She just wanted to say sorry so many times to her mom and never leave her alone ever again. She's right at the first place, I wish I listened to her sooner, Inez said to herself. Her mother yawn and told Inez to go to bed as soon as brush her teeth. Inez laugh at her mom but say yes anyway. Inez already finished the test, but it wasn't easier as she tought it could be and now she's afraid and nervous at the same time. She pick up her phone and looked at countless texts that Sean send to her, mostly about that last talk they had. Inez sigh, it's no use Sean I already made my decision. Inez make herself sure enough to choose Alex rather than Sean, Alex is the person that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. She's not gonna coming back to Sean, at least that what Inez trying to do.

Alex : "Hey, how was your day?"

Just a simple text from Alex can make a smile on Inez's face even though she still imagine Sean in the back of her mind. Inez hated herself for doing that to Alex.

Inez : "The test wasn't that easy, I'm afraid"

She take a look on Sean's text and arguing to herself for a second

Sean : "I'm sorry I can't say this in person. I love you, I just don't want this feeling ended up untold"

Inez just look at her phone, even Alex already reply to her text, but she just can't stop read Sean's text over and over again. She can't help but imagine Sean said it with a stupid smile he had, she can't help but imagine Sean running his hand to his hair whenever the awkwardness is in the air, she can't help but imagine Sean bit his thumb whenever he's nervous. Inez type a paragraph about her feeling for Sean, about the love, anger, hate, and even lust she had for Sean. But then she shook her head, I can't do that, she thought and for god knows how many times, she left Sean on read and reply to Alex instead.

Alex : "I'm pretty sure you can do it, you're smart. Besides, if somehow you can't passed through, you can start anything you want. Be an artist, singer, writer, you can do anything. You're so talented, don't you even realised that?"

Inez smile at Alex's words. He always find a way to make Inez calm even just a little. At the other side of the world, Alex sit alone in his house, messing around with his phone, watch Inez's video on youtube to cure the sadness he had because he can't meet Inez for god knows how long. Why the hell did I do it? Alex question himself. I could have been married right now if I'm not this stupid, he continue. That's true, he could've been married with Molly--his bestfriend since highschool--if he wanted to since she was in love with Alex. But Alex, of course, too dumb to see that unti Molly gave up and married with someone else. But to Alex, Molly really deserve better man than him. Alex smile at his phone screen, he played the video where Inez told about his band. He's in love with Inez even more. It's stupid, he thought. Alex who's known as 'Mr. can't fall in love' by his friends, finally in love.

Inez : "Thanks, Alex. You always know how to make me feel better"

That time, Inez really mean it. She realised how Alex really help to solve her problems, from 'what should I eat for dinner' kinda problems to 'what should I do to keep living' problems. Inez enjoy having Alex in her life. Maybe Alex is the angel that God sent from heaven just for me, Inez thought to herself. Yes, she believe in angels.

"I can't do it anymore" Sean said to Sally for hundreds time. "I don't deserve her, I really don't deserve happiness in my life. Maybe I'm paying for sins I don't remember?" Sean said, rest his head on his hand. Sean's life never been harder than this time "Happiness is simple back then" He start to think about his childhood "Just play video games all day without worrying about school tomorrow" He continue and Sally just sit beside Sean, listening to anything he said, how depressed and stressed out he is. "I miss our old days together" Sean said, make Sally a little afraid that he will asked her to come back again. She really can't, the feeling just disapear, no matter how she wanted him back, but the kiss, the hug, the cuddle, the sex never felt the same anymore. "I miss to be fine just because your kiss" He continue "Remember that when I play the game that make me mad so bad?" He asked and Sally nodded her head, smile on her face because she remember how adorable Sean is "Just a kiss from you can make my day fine again" He said. Sally couldn't be more agree with Sean. She was happy back then with Sean.

"Maybe I will love her from a far" Sean said. Again, Sally just stay in silence and wait until Sean continue "What do you think?" He asked, finally Sally open up her mouth "Anything on your mind is fine as long as you're being responsible on your own happiness" She said again and again about responsibilities. "I know" Sean mumble. "And you know I will always be here until your heart healed" Sally said, pull Sean into a hug. Sean kiss her shoulder and smile, silently being grateful to have her in his life even not as a lover.

In the other side, Sam is alone with her own thoughts. I'm only 19, there's plenty if time to play and fuck around, she said to herself. She drink her Jack Daniels and think about her meaningless life.
