Sodapop wasn't he's usual self anymore. I had no idea what was wrong, Pony was back and everything was back to normal. But Soda wasn't. He's started smoking more often, and he has a high temper when he's working or when someone starts talking to him. Most importantly he stopped talking to me.
I walked into the front doors of the DX, and clocked in. Soda hadn't showed up so I turned on the open sign, and sat behind the counter reading a magazine. The bell went off and I looked up seeing Soda walk in, then walk past me to the back. That's it! I've had enough of this silent treatment.
"Soda c'mere!" I yelled making him jump up in surprise. "What Steve? Can't you see I'm tryin to work here!" He yelled throwing the wrench into the toolbox, knocking it over and all the tools went everywhere. "What's wrong with you lately! Why don't you talk to me anymore, did I say something? If I did I'm sorry." He rolled his eyes taking a seat in the spin chair. "You didn't do anything Steve, I'm just not in the mood to talk."
"Why the hell not? I'm not gonna let you sit here and ignore me and make me think I did something wrong!" I yelled slamming my fist into the car, causing a dent in the car and my knuckles to bleed. "God damnit Steve. Come on." He huffed grabbing my arm and leading me to the bathroom, and getting a rag cleaning my knuckles. "I sent a letter to Sandy, she returned it without opening it." He said not looking up from my hand that was bleeding like a fountain.
"Why didn't you tell me.. we're suppose to be best friends." I said sadness lacing my voice making him look up with a frown. "I didn't want to bring it up. Whenever I do I feel my heartbreak. I didn't want you to think I was a baby." He whimpered wrapping my hand then walking away leaving me alone in the bathroom. "Soda hold on," I said running up to him blocking his way out.
"Why would you think I would think you were a baby. I'm your best friend Soda, I would've helped you. That's what I'm here for." I said pulling him in for a hug taking him by surprise. "I'm sorry Steve. I should've told you." He sighed laying his head on my shoulder. "It's ok Soda, just promise next time you'll tell me ok? And not ignore me." I said pulling away smiling at him. He nodded smiling. "I promise next time I'll come to you about it."
