"So, Race, this may seem like a weird question, but do you sell newspapers?" I asked carefully.
"Yes, why?" he responded.
"Just curious." I said quickly. "Are you new around here?"
"Yeah. To be honest, I don't know how I got here," he admitted.
"Hey, how about Sami and I show you around town in about an hour? We can meet in the park with the founder of our town's daily paper statue in it. Its in the center of town; you can't miss it." I said, changing the subject. He agreed, and left the deli.
Immediately, I whipped around to Sami. "I told you so," I said to her smugly. "But that aside, now we get to show Race around our small town. How awesome is that?"
Sami admitted that it was, in fact, awesome, and wondered aloud how he could have gotten here. I told her it didn't matter, and, she decided it was better for her sanity to agree with me, at least for the time being.

"And here is the movie theater, and here is one of my favorite stores: the bookshop. Not only do they have books but they also have Broadway CDs and vocal selection books, which are awesome. And over there is the town history museum, where you'll find all sorts of oldish stuff, dating back to 1899, when the town was founded. Next stop on our tour will be my home, where we can get some lunch," I said rather grandly. We had be wandering town for an hour and a half, and we were all getting pretty hungry.
We arrived in my house, and after heating frozen pizza and making lemonade, both of which seemed to be new experiences for our newsie friend, we went out back to eat lunch under the trees. We enjoyed our pizza and lemonade while explaining our world, to the best of our ability, to Race, who was taking it all really well.
We had almost finished the whole pizza when something huge fell on our table from out of the trees. I looked closer and realized that a seventeen year old boy had fallen on my picnic table. He wasn't even scratched, even though he had fallen from a tree onto a splintery picnic table. This made me wonder, so I asked if it was safe to drink the water. He looked at me, wide eyed, and I knew. He had to be Jesse Tuck.
