After some dancing and snacks, an announcement was made calling all of the guys who were participating in the fashion show to head backstage. The guys headed back with minimal grumbling, and us girls went to find somewhere to sit. We found front row seats, which were unfortunately located near Sami and the dancers, and sat down, with Winnie closest to the dancers and me the farthest away, for obvious reasons.

After a few minutes, the DJ turned down the music and the show's announcer took her place.

"All right, ladies, who's ready to see these guys in their finery? Shout if you are ready!" she said in an enthusiastic way. We all cheered and she started the show. A few guys came out, our announcer describing what they were wearing to the audience and giving the guys compliments on their style. After about seven guys, we saw Jesse come out, grinning like he was enjoying the thrill of the show, if nothing else about it.

"As we can see, this young man is wearing a lovely forest green button down shirt, khakis, brown lace up shoes, very nice ones at that, and a tie. That tie has a wonderful tree print, very fun and creative," the announcer announced. Jesse waved at the end of the walk, and then he headed backstage once again. A few more guys came out before we got to Jack's turn.

"The next young man is looking very classic in his grey vest, tailored pants, light blue shirt, and grey tie. He is also rocking the most classic design in men's dress shoes, a black leather lace up shoe. Very clean looking," the announcer said, and I heard Katherine laugh at Jack being described as clean looking. We sat for a while, watching other boys come out, with no sign of Race being called anywhere. We got through every other boy in the show, and the DJ put the music back up. I began to worry that he had backed out or something had happened or something. Then, the music got quiet again. The announcer walked to the middle of the stage.

"And now, our final guy, who has been voted most stylish by the dance committee for his unique outfit," she said, and out walked Race.

"Our most stylish 'model' is wearing a navy blue dress shirt with matching slacks, with his vest and bow tie in silver, which he says he chose to match with the girl he came with. He also models a wonderful pair of navy blue shoes, which he says her brother helped him pick," the announcer said to us all. For some strange reason, everyone around me seemed almost moved by the mini stories that accompanied Race's outfit's description. I even caught some of Sami's dancer friends nearly swooning until Sami whispered something to them sharply, probably reminding them who he was and who he came with.

The announcer said that the show was over, and the five of us girls went to find the guys, who we found surprisingly fast, probably due to the school newspaper kids all trying to be the one to get an interview with Race for the newspaper. Katherine whipped out her school press pass, (unlike the other kids she had actually brought hers), and the teachers let us through to the guys immediately. Katherine's pass also was enough leverage for the teachers to be able to send away the pass-less kids in the mob, leaving just us with the guys.

"I hope you saved the exclusive for the real reporter," I teased.

"Of course I did. An article that has that many people who want it only deserves the best in journalism. Katherine, just make sure to make me look good in it," Race said with a hint of joke in his voice. I suggested that anyone who just wanted to spend the night having fun and not bombarded by the press, if you could call it that, should go dance and have fun without the rest of us who were okay with press pressure. Cosette and Eponine decided to go party, and Winnie and Jesse followed suit, both of them not being patient enough to not have fun at a party. Katherine, being a member of the press, chose to stick around. Jack chose to stick with her, and also claimed her would be Race's bodyguard against crazy fans. I also chose to stay with Race because we came together, and it doesn't make sense to seperate. I was the only girl in silver, and Sami had a big mouth, so between those two thing, someone would figure out I was the girl that was mentioned.

As the night went on, we actually got to have some fun, even though people would come over and ask for photos to submit to the school paper, saying the reporter had called for other people to take pictures, which she had. Race would always oblige, and he said its because he likes feeling famous.

"How much does being famous pay?" I asked him, teasing the first time we met. He just laughed and didn't answer my question, which is what I expected. We knew that he would be front page news of the school paper on Monday, but we ignored that and had fun until my mom came to pick us up to go home.
