After school, all of us met up like normal, with me going concerned mom like the day before and figured out the afternoon. We decided that all of us would head to the mall, where us girls would go off together to find dresses and such and the boys would go do something, whether it be find something to wear for Friday or seeing a movie and getting pizza.
We arrived at the mall and went our separate ways, the boys headed who knows where, and us five girls headed to the nearest dress store, with Cosette leading the way, ready to go all Galinda-y on us if we were being too dull.
Inside this store, there were racks full of bright, glittering dresses of all colors. We all split up to browse through the store, taking our new mission to heart and searching the racks diligently. After a few minutes of searching, we heard Winnie call out about finding the perfect dress. We all rushed to her and she showed it off, a shimmering forest green dress with a bow around the waist and a lace overlay over the main dress. She tried it on, and, seeing as it fit perfectly, she purchased the dress.
The next store was filled with simple, bohemian dresses in light colors. Once again, we all spread out to scour the racks for the dress of our dreams. This time, Eponine was the one to find a dress for Friday. She selected a long sleeved white maxi dress with a simple button front bodice and flowing skirt. She looked like a princess in it, and it became her dress for Friday.
The next store we went into had all sorts of tie-necked dresses. We started the search again, and I was beginning to worry about finding a dress to wear. I searched the racks, nothing exciting me. An excited shout from Katherine told us that she, however, had better luck in this store than I had. She selected a tailored raspberry dress with short sleeves and a neat tie-neck. She looked perfect in that dress.
By the time we got to the next store, I was in full panic mode, especially seeing the average styles of dress in the store. Still, I searched the racks, looking for the most perfect dress. Nothing there was really calling out to me. Something there called out to Cosette, though, because she bought a mint blue strapless dress with a flowy skirt, which is very her.
I had just about given up when we got to the next store. After going in, however, my fears disappeared. The store was full of 1950's inspired dresses. I searched the racks like crazy until I found it. The dress of my dreams. It was a pink full skirted piece, with a silver ribbon sash and a silver ribbon halter neck. Excitedly, I purchased the dress, and we went to meet up with the guys to get something to eat.
For some reason, the second we met up with the guys, they wanted to see our dresses. We showed them a quick peek, but then told them that they had to wait until Friday to see the full dresses. They playfully protested this, but we denied them any extra looks at the dresses.
We got some pretzels in the food court. (Who doesn't love mall pretzels?) We laughed and joked so much that we just seemed like average teenagers enjoying a snack, even though we all knew we weren't.
