After lunch, we decided to switch around our groups so everyone girl got a chance to wander with another girl. After all, we had subjected Katherine to wandering with two boys for like half a day, so it only seemed fair. We decided on the groups being me, Katherine, and Eponine, Sami, Winnie, and Jesse, and Race and Jack. We headed outside and parted ways.

"Do you girls want to go shop on Main Street? There is all sorts of boutiques,  a couple of vintage bookstores, and a stationary shop," I said, watching both girls' faces light up with delight- Eponine at the thought of being able to shop, and Katherine upon hearing about the bookshops and the stationary place.

We headed down to Main Street, where we decided to start with my favorite boutique and work our way down the street. We entered the boutique, and noticed a girl in a long black dress and green bonnet trying to pay for something in sous. I could tell two things just by looking around: the girl was Cosette, and Eponine didn't look too pleased about her being there. Sensing that something was about to go horribly wrong, I told Eponine and Katherine to meet me in the back by the vintage inspired party dresses, and rushed over to the confused French girl.

"Allow me to pay for your purchase, Miss Fauchelevent," I said politely, handing over money for the outfit she was buying. Then, I turned to the cashier. "Miss Fauchelevent will be putting on the outfit in your dressing room and leaving the store in it."

I pulled Cosette to the dressing room, where I gave her the super speed rundown of everything, even the fact that Eponine didn't seem too happy to see her, so she should try to make peace. I told her to get changed into the black and white 50's inspired dress she had picked and to then meet us in the vintage party dress section, ready to make a sort of peace with Eponine.

She got changed and met us just as I was letting Eponine know that she was going to be spending the afternoon with us. The two girls somehow managed a friendly peace between them, even slipping into friendly conversations in French instead of English, with us American girls just glad that they weren't fighting. By the end of our shopping trip, the two girls had even become friends. We had stopped to get ice cream, and I managed to capture a picture of them laughing, enjoying their ice cream together. I sent it to Sami, and got a bit of amazed surprise back in response.

We headed back to my house so Sami and I could feed the Broadway folk dinner and show Cosette to the luxurious Cream Room, where she was going to stay, before Sami had to go home. Together, our whole group enjoyed a meal of pasta and salad where I introduced Cosette. The group welcomed her warmly and I could tell they were all becoming like a family. It was my happy Broadway family, finally real and alive. What could change that?
