"Woah, woah, woah what's the rush?" A familiar voice asked.
I took a deep breath before answering them.
I was hoping he wouldn't see me.
"To class, Ms. Vermon will be upset if I'm late." I proceeded to continue walking, but Leo and his friends got in my path.
It's been a almost half an year after what that monster did to my mom..and Matthew.
Without bothering to say anything, he had me grab my bags and we moved out of our country (Canada) and we moved here, to the USA.
I'm guessing so he could forget about what happened. But I will never forget.
But no matter how much pain and tears I've let out after losing my mom, I can never show any of my feelings when that monster is around.
I already know what he's capable of doing, he's not afraid of killing anyone, it wouldn't surprise me if he were to do the same to me.
This morning, I practically begged my father to not make me go to school. My new school has been hell just like my old school in Canada, the kids love picking on me, and being the new kid and all just gives them another reason to pick on me. They like insulting me, especially now that I don't have a mother.. But Leo and his stupid friends have to be the worst out of them all.
On the very first day after finding out about my mom being dead, they just had to bring it up and mock me about it. I ended up bursting into tears and I ran out of the classroom.
I didn't stop running, ignoring the teacher's calls.
I headed to the restroom and washed my face before heading back to class after calming down.
After I went back to class, my teacher Ms Vermon had them apologize to me, which they hesitated to at first but did so when the teacher gave them a stern look and threatened to call their parenrs.
I just shrugged as a response, their apologies meant nothing to me knowing they were only doing it because they didn't want to get in trouble.
But my father forced me to go anyway, I decided to just go, knowing that being at home alone with him wasn't any better.
"Would you mind getting out the way?" I asked, almost quietly, gulping down a mixture of saliva that was forming on my throat.
"Please?"
I added with a shaky voice, only for them to all laugh at me before Leo grabbed me by the scruff of my uniform when I tried to walk away.
"Do you really think we're gonna let you off the hook, Snorlax?" Leo asked, laughing. "We haven't forgotten how you almost got us in trouble. And you're paying for that."
Those hazel eyes of his were up to no good and I knew it when he gave a look to his friends and one of them got me in a headlock.
Some other kid snatched my backpack off and zipped it open, digging through it until he took out my lunchbox.
He opened it before shaking it and throwing out all of the food it had to the floor, then stomping it with his feet.
"Hey!!" I yelled.
"You should be thanking us, wimp! Maybe you'll stop being so fat once you stop eating like a pig." One of Leo's older friends hooted, before snorting and make pig-like noises, the others laughing with him.
I managed to yank Leo's arm off and started to make a run for it, only for one of them to step on my untied shoelace, causing me to trip. Then each took one of my arms before dragging me back to the restroom. I struggled and tried to escape but it was no use.
