Tyler was silent, almost thoughtful as well for a second or two before that look was gone and he just chuckled quietly in response, still holding onto Liz.
"Don't worry about me." He said when his face suddenly turned serious. "She's in good hands." Without saying another word, the two exchanged eye contact, neither of them backing down. I almost expected them to break into a fight or something.
There was awkward silence amongst the rest of us, while there was obvious tension between the two as they held their death stares. There was so much tension in the matter of fact, that you could probably cut it with a knife.
"Uh.. Ty.. Joe.." Lizzy stepped in between the two, both of them completely ignoring her.
It wasn't until Ryan jumped in and cleared his throat and he spoke up that they looked away from each other.
"Y'all should really start going to class.. It starts in like 10 seconds."
Jo nodded, walking away from Tyler and Lizzy. "Right. Come on Isaac." He said as we started walking away with Ry.
"Bye Liz. If you ever need anything, you got us 'kay?" He smiled at her, ignoring the scowl he was recieving from Tyler.
As we walked away, I overheard some of Tyler and Lizzy's conversation.
"Who are those kids?" He growled, it gave me the same type of energy Rick gave me when he would question my mom about Matthew, or any man she spoke to. That was never a good thing.
"Just some friends of mine." She assured, smiling. She seemed pretty oblivious to the obvious jealousy in her boyfriend's tone.
"Really? You sure seem to love hanging out with dudes." He 'joked', but I could tell he was pissed over it. Lizzy kissed his cheek, but that frown on his face remained the same.
"They're like brothers.. Don't worry about them." She leaned in for a kiss, but Tyler moved away.
"You know.. I don't really like that dude she's dating." Jonas commented as he glanced over at them.
"You jealous bro?" Ryan teased.
Jonas chuckled."No, I just get vibes from him.. That I don't like at all.."
"I hate to agree with Jo, but I think he's right." I admitted. I watched as he walked away after they had a what seemed like a serious talk.
Lizzy followed close behind with her brothers, trying to call after him but he didn't seem to listen.
"Lizzy's almost 18. I'm sure she can take care of herself." Ryan said as we walked.
"That won't stop me from looking out for my sis." Jonas answered with a smile.
"We gotta take care of our homeboys and homegirls, right Isaac?" He looked at me, the bell rang straight afterwards.
"Shit." I cursed. "We better hurry."
I told him before running to class with them, until I realized something; Emma and Blake were missing.
"Shit. Shit. Shit." I cursed.
"Where's Emma and Blake?" Jonas asked when he too noticed they were gone.
"I don't know!"
Ryan walked over to us. "You guys need help finding them? Or-"
"No, no. I got this. You and Jo go to class. I'll find the kids." I started walking away, stopping when Jonas followed close behind.
"No. My sister is missing too. I can't just go to school all calmly knowing Emma is out there without me. I'm coming with you." He requested, no, he announced.
