"Isaac, why is Jonas taking so long?" Emma asked as we sat down and waited for Jonas.
I got up.
If he's not in the restroom anymore, where the hell was he then?
"Come on you two, might as well check on that clown." I said, shaking my head as I thought about the whole scene he made with Gabriel.
I walked out of the gym with the two, looking around until I spotted him.
"Are you fucking happy now?!" I heard Jonas yell at Gabriel.
"Jonas!!!" Emma cried out.
"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" She asked, concerned.
Jonas looked at us in panic, as if the world had ended.
He glared and cursed at Gabriel before running away, climbing on the fence before jumping off of it.
I wanted to go after him, but Emma and Blake were here. I'm sure Gabriel could tell I wanted to go after him, since he took the kids.
"I can take care of them. Just go after him, please. He needs you."
I nodded, before running after him.
"Please bring my brother back!" Emma shouted from afar.
I climbed out of the fence, jumping and landing on my feet. I ran after Jonas, until I almost caught up to him. He waited for the lights impatiently.
"Jonas!" I shouted, grabbing his attention.
"Go back to school, will you?" Jonas raged, his eyes watery. Why was he crying? "Or are you just going to talk shit after overhearing all of that?" He spat.
"Overhearing what?" I asked, since I had no idea what the hell he was talking about.
He had started crossing the street but stopped when I said that. "Wait- So you didn't-"
"Dude, watch out!" I shouted when one of the cars were about to hit him. I quickly pushed him away on time, somehow managing to save myself as well.
"You fucking idiot! You could've fucking died!" I yelled at him, hella pissed at him for putting his life in danger like that. I was too busy going off on him to notice whether or not he was actually paying attention to what I was saying.
"What? Aren't you even listening to me?!" I shook him, snapping out of his daydream-like state before he also yelled back at me.
"Get off me will you?" He snapped, his face bright red in anger as a scowl was formed on his face. I got up, before he could leave again, I stopped him.
"You're not going anywhere until you tell me what's wrong." I stated, my hand on his wrist.
"You really didn't hear what I said back there?" He questioned.
I shook my head. "I didn't hear whatever the heck you two were talking about. What's going on?"
He took a deep breath, letting out a sigh of relief."Good... Because its better off that way.." He was starting to walk, until I stopped him again.
"Don't worry about it... okay? I'm okay.. Really." he said, in a softer tone.
"Are you sure?" I asked him. "If something's bothering you, you can tell me." I assured gently.
He nodded, taking a few more breaths. "I know but I'm fine.. Really dude.. I'm okay now thanks." he caught me off guard with a sudden hug, I returned the hug regardless, trying to help him ease out a bit.
"Love you dude." He mumbled quietly.
"Love you too." I replied, giving him a small pat.
"Really?" He said, pulling away looking surprised.
"Of course. You're more than a best friend, you're basically my brother."
"Oh. Right. Of course. Bros for life, huh?" He chuckled quietly.
"How about you two get back inside?" An older man's voice butted in. We both pulled back to look at the man, none other than the gym teacher.
"Mr. Kelly, what the fuck are you doing here?" I asked.
"Language, Isaac." He warned.
"I saw you trying to escape from class. Nice try." he said.
"Actually sir-" Jonas started to say, but got interrupted.
"Save your excuses for later you two. Back to class, now before I call both of your parents." He warned as he started walking back to class with us, shaking his head. Jonas and I exchanged glances, before bursting into quiet laughter as he walked in front of us.
~
"Joey!" Emma ran up to Jonas once we got to class.
"Hey Em." He said as he hugged the younger girl.
"I was worried you left for good!!"
"Well don't worry anymore, kiddo. I'm back.. Was just taking a stroll." He lied as he picked her up. I backed him up and nodded, deciding bringing up what had happened back there was unnecessary. There was no need to worry Emma with a problem that was already resolved.. Or I at least hope.
"Gabe, can you show them that magic trick you showed us earlier?" Blake asked. "I want Isaac and his friend to see it." He giggled as he leaped. "It was so cool!"
Before Gabriel could say anything, the bell rang for next period.
"Sorry guys, but the bell rung. It's time to go to our next class so it's time to say bye to Gabriel."
"Awe!!" both of the kids whined, but waved at Gabriel as Jonas started walking away. They followed Jonas, he stopped walking after noticing how I wasn't following.
"You coming with us?" He asked.
"Yeah just wait a minute." I said before looking back at Gabriel.
"Thanks for taking care of those kids while I followed Jonas.. And well, I know I didn't do it, but sorry. I'm sorry about Jonas hitting you back at the gym. I don't know what's been going on between you guys, but you seem like a pretty chill guy so I'm pretty sure he's being an ass for no good reason."
Gabriel gave me a small smile.
"No, no. You don't have to apologize. I'm not mad at Jonas for anything he's done.. Especially because it's my fault... It's my fault he ran out of the school and-"
"Wait, so what exactly happened? What'd you say? What'd he say?"
He tilted his head a little and stared at me confused "Wait.. So you don't know?"
"Don't know what?" I asked him.
