"Audrey?" I glanced back at the brunette, who was staring straight at me. How long has she been there eavesdropping  on our conversation?

"Dude.. There's something I've been dying to tell you for a while now..." Jonas spoke through the phone.

"Not now, Joe. I'll call you later. And please.. Stop getting high. I don't think normal you would like you oversharing anything."

''But bro, this can't wait. Honestly I've never really thought about it, but I think I'm starting to catch feelings for someone-"

''Sorry man, I'll call you later.'' I interrupted as I hung up on him. I looked back at Audrey after I hung up.

"What am I supposed to do? Stay here?" I say as a joke, since obviously I doubt that's what was gonna happen.

"I'm serious! You can't go back."
She exclaimed. "It's not safe okay?"

"You think I didn't know that before?!" I couldn't help but snap back. I walked closer to her, even with the rage my voice somewhat held, she didn't move a muscle.

"What else was there to do? Call the cops on him?" I scoff. "Some stupid cops won't stop him. He finds a way to come back. That's why I can't stay here, okay? If he finds out where I'm at, he could do some crazy shit and I'll be putting everyone in this household in danger! So I'm going to leave. And I ask you, to please just never come over to my house or any of that ever again."  I was ready to leave, but she stopped me by grabbing my arm.

"No!! Are you crazy?" She said.

"Maybe I am, but I'm not crazy enough to put you all in danger, okay? Think about yourself, think about your nephew. That kid's really fucking young. Too fucking young to leave this world. Let him live a life.. Don't- don't do that to him."

Don't..Let him have a past like mine.

I give her a dead serious look.

"You shouldn't be living a life like you are either. Please.. I don't want you to go back to him." She begged, letting go of my arm. She took a step closer.

I hadn't realized how close our faces were, we practically shared the same breath. I'm probably seeing stuff, but it felt like our faces were getting closer.

"Look.." I began to say, touching her shoulders gently.

"You're a really nice person. But honestly, you're spreading your kindness to the wrong person. I'm.. I'm a mess. I've done a lot of shit and honestly, if you knew about it all I doubt you'd still be wanting me to stay." I said, looking at her eyes, for once seeing them close enough to distinguish their color.

A greenish type of hazel.

"You know.. What? I'm going to stop asking you to stay and just make you stay. Because I can't let you go back."

It was really amazing to see how determined this one girl was to not let me return. I was about to ask her why the hell she even cared whether or not I'd go back to my house, the door bursted open.

"You can't let who go back where?" Her dad asked her.

"I.." She trailed off.

"I'm leaving, now.'' I chimed into their conversation

"Thanks for the dinner, sir. It was great. Bye Audrey, thanks for letting me come over." I simply stated as I made my way out of the house. If it weren't for her dad coming, she'd probably stop me or something based on that look on her face she had when I walked out of her house.
