"I wasn't scared, but nervous Being from District 1 only made me stronger. I'm not your average District 1 girl though, I have somthing that many District 1 citizens doesn't have. Brains. I'm very smart compared to the others. Most of the tributes and victors are just plain uneducated.
Around 8 am I walk out the door. My hair is in a cute messy bun. My dress is green and beautiful. My parents are making me volunteer. My father wants to be able to say 'My daughter is a Victor, you know.' My mom wants to be able to show off huge Dimond rings. One of the worst parts was, if I die my family, friends, and District will disown me after death. A lady walks up to the stage. ' Welcome! As always ladies first but, before I draw a name do we have any woman volunteers?' I take a deep breath... I raise my hand. No one was expecting me to go through with it. There was silence. "
