Micah watched as Hayes took a photo of the salad she had been picking at for ten minutes and typed something on her phone. A few seconds later her phone buzzed and she smiled at whatever she'd received.
"What are you doing?" he finally asked.
"Snapchatting Holly," she replied, taking a bite of a piece of shredded carrot. "She doesn't think I'm eating enough and I'm sending her pictures of my food every time I eat."
He frowned. She didn't eat enough, but he wasn't about to get into that with her. Instead he went with the safe question. "What's 'Snapchat'?"
"You don't know what Snapchat is?"
"If I did, I doubt I would have asked what it is."
"Oh my god, I can't believe you."
"Never mind, I already regret asking."
"Give me your phone."
"I'm not letting you install anything on my phone."
"It's hard to explain without showing you."
"I don't need to know that badly."
"You're a sad excuse for a Millennial."
"I'm okay with that."
"Just know that you're missing out on some quality snaps," she said, waving her phone at him.
"I'm sure I'll live."
