"Are you doing anything for the holidays?" Hayes asked. Her hands were clasped around a mug of hot chocolate and she seated at the dining table, which was covered in books and notes as she'd spent the day studying. It was the middle of the night and she'd been struggling to explain her series of connecting flights so she could meet up with her parents and extended family in Spain. Apparently they traded off which side of the family they visited each year for the holidays.

"I'm flying to Portland on the 22nd, actually. It's Leo's turn to host Christmas, mostly because he finally has a place big enough now that he's living with Arianna."

"Oh that's cute. And probably a direct flight, too."

"One six hour flight, yeah."

"Is everyone going?"

"Misha, Cameron, my dad, and Lenore are flying out of New York on the 18th, I believe. Finn and Gelsey are driving up from San Francisco the 20th."

"And your siblings are Leo, Misha, and Finn, right? The others are their partners?"

"Yep."

"You're going to be the last one to get there, then. And the only single one," Hayes commented after a slight pause, smiling teasingly.

He grimaced. "You're just as bad as my sister, you know that?"

She laughed but it turned into a yawn.
