Faiths POV:
"Okay. We will be there in twenty minutes." Davis says hanging up the phone.
"We have the all clear. We can head to the hospital. There are cars waiting outside." He says. We get to the hospital about 10 minuets later and all rush inside. A doctor approaches us.
"Hi I'm Dr. Carson. Maggie's upstairs in a room in the icu. She's doing okay right now. I can take two up to see her, but I need to talk to you two privately first." He states to Tim and I.
"Mom and Dad go. I'll stay with them." Gracie speaks up.
"Ok. We'll be back." Tim says as we walk with Dr. Carson to his office. He shuts the door before speaking up.
"Maggie is in a critical state right now. I'm concerned about her weight. A normal 5'9 female weight is 131Ibs. I know she has always been small, but she has lost 15Ibs in a month. She has peptic ulcers. They are small holes on the inside of her stomach causing nausea and vomiting. They are also the reason why she hasn't been eating. These should go away in a few months and we already have her started on medication. The main concern is that Maggie has developed interstitial lung disease. This disease is causing my the scaring of the lung tissue. It can become serious and require a lung transplant. Maggie is in the third stage out of five as far as right now. There is no really treatment to it, but I would like to put her on oxygen therapy and start pulmonary therapy when we can. These two things should help her feel better." He states. I can't believe this is happening.
"Ok. Let's do the oxygen and pulmonary therapy." Tim speaks up.
"Ok. I can take you two up to her. She is sleeping right now." He says walking out the door. We walk through the icu before making it to her room and walking in. She looks so pale and weak. Dr. Carson slowly puts the oxygen mask on her as Tim wraps his arms around me.
"I'll be back later to check in." Dr. Carson says walking out.
"Tim she looks so weak." I cry.
"I know baby, but she's home." Tim and I sit down in the chairs next to bed. I grab her hand as we sit there for awhile. Ik so happy she's finally home. I soon start to see her eyes flutter open.
"Hey baby." I say as Maggie breaks down. She takes the oxygen mask off.
"Momma." She gets out sobbing.
"Hey baby. I'm so happy you're home." I whisper.
"Me too." Maggie gets out coughing.
"Baby, put the oxygen mask back on. You don't need to be talking." Tim whispers.
"But I wanna talk to you guys." Maggie barely gets out.
"Maggie please put it on." Tim says pulling it down to her mouth and nose. Tim grabs a piece of paper and pen. He hands it to Maggie before sitting down.
"Just write what you want to say." He says brushing her hair back.
"I hate this." Maggie writes.
"We know baby, but it's going to help you get better." Tim whispers. We talk with her for awhile before she falls asleep.
"She looks so exhausted." Tim sighs sitting down next to me on the couch.
"I know. I hate this for her. She doesn't deserve this." I sigh breaking down.
"Shhh. It's okay Faith. We have home and we're with her. Everything will be fine." Tim whispers stroking my hair.
"Hey Tim, I know the kids want to see her, but she needs to sleep. It would just be better for them to come by tomorrow when she's awake and rested." I speak up after a few minutes.
"Yeah you're right. I'm going to talk to them and ask my mom if she can watch them for the night before bringing them over here tomorrow." Tim says standing up and walking out. I look over at Maggie. I finally have my baby girl home. She's not herself though. She looks and sounds so broken. I wish I was there the past year and half. She should have been here and none of this would have happened.
