Peter sat alone, he knew what he was seeing wasn't real, this was what he was seeing in his subconsciousness, like a dream. He could feel and see everything whatever was controlling him did, yet he couldn't control its actions. Seeing himself kill Wanda was painful and heartbreaking and one of the scariest things ever. It was like watching yourself on a recording.

He replayed it in his head, over and over again. You'd think this would desensitise him, yet every time he relived it, the more his will to live shrunk. Wanda was dead, Thor... he didn't know if he was ok and didn't know if he wanted the answer, all because of him.

If they'd just let him take that step, everyone would be safe. If he was dead, Wanda wouldn't be. He knew full well that he'd never forgive himself and he didn't want to, he had to remember Wanda and what he'd done to her, it just felt like it was an essential part of mourning her. In fact, he didn't even feel like he had a right to mourn. He'd killed her. He was a murderer.
