"I don't want to walk, guys,"
Jungkook piped up.
Sweat glistened on Jimin's face.
He looked as if he was
about to collapse.
He was terrified.
What was going on?
"Park Jimin!" I called again, feeling uneasy.
Again, he didn't make a single move to
acknowledge that he'd heard me.
I lifted my eyes to gaze at the sign again.
"It's hot.
Why do you even want to go
to the arboretum?
Let's just go to the sea."
I spoke, seeming apathetic.
I didn't know where the arboretum was,
but I felt we shouldn't go.
I didn't know why Jimin was
playing up like this.
"We're out of money anyways,"
I tried again.
"Let's just walk, like I said earlier,"
Hoseok replied.
"If we walk to the station everything will work out,"
Namjoon tried hopefully.
"But then we'll have to skip dinner."
Seokjin laughed as Jimin and Taehyung cried.
Jimin only followed us once we started making our way in the direction of the station. He looked down at his feet and hunched his shoulders.
He resembled a very small child. A very scared child, too.
I looked at the sign again

As we came closer to the station,
the sign began to disappear from my sight.
