Narrator's POV

As you walked down the graveled pathway, you heard the birds chirping in a distance while the wind blew, cooling your skin that send shivers down your spine. It was indeed an autumn afternoon, and the orange leaves began to fall from tall & sturdy trees that made a good setting for a film. You looked around & a smile crept on your lips. It was a beautiful & calming sight to see whenever you feel down. But, you're not here to enjoy the lasting beauty of nature. As you found a nearby tree, you sat down on the thick & dark brown roots of it & took something out of your pocket of your dark (f/c) hoodie: A red & big cutter with a sharp shiny blade. You inhaled before moving your left sleeve up, revealing self-harm scars. Some cuts were shallow but others were deep but not to where it can kill you immediately. You don't want to die today, but soon. You saw an area to cut & moved the blade upwards, showing the blade. With no fear, you pierced the blade through your skin. Blood began to flow out from the inside, but you ignored. You felt as if it's just a bite from an ant which is nothing for you. You got used to it anyways. After a few more cuts, you finally stopped & ignored the blood flowed out. You sighed to yourself with a smile before keeping the cutter & rolled down your left sleeve to cover your recent & old scars before standing to leave for the palace.

You felt nothing. You're a mistake, for your parents disagreed of your choices. You're old enough to be decided for your future but they still treat you as if you're still just a child. It was bullshit for them to even call you names, mocking you, comparing you to your cousins who were successful. There will be no hope if they became your demons in your heart. Reading books, writing your journals, watering your plants were your coping mechanisms that helped you a bit but still not enough.
"A waste of oxygen!"
"Such a disgusting & volatile brat!"
"You're not worthy to be on the throne!"
"Look at Erika! She's more successful than you!"
Those words again came to your mind again, and you knew those are true because of how you act. It's not royalty.

Your mother, Queen Dana stated while looking sternly upon you. To you, she's a strict woman who wanted her child to be successful & a brave leader for the kingdom while your dad is more strict than your mother & wanted you to be a great & wise ruler,
"What is it mother?"
"We hired a butler for you."
Your world stopped. A butler? But your old enough to go alone in the empire.
"Mom, I don't need one."
"(Y/n), you need one because he can help to rule. He's such a wise & handsome lad who came from a different kingdom."
Your father replied with a firm expression.
You sighed to yourself for you don't have choice, but can fired that man, right?
"If you want to meet him right here, I'll bring him here-"
"Wait, I'll just meet him personally. Where is he?"
"He's in the west wing of the main hall."
Your mother replied with a small smile,
"Don't be mean to him, (Y/n). He can be passive-aggressive whenever he felt rage."
The king exclaimed when you left your seat to exit the room. The warmth from the room disappeared & the coolness began to flow throughout the palace. You walked to your right, where the huge staircase lead to the west wing. You felt anxious as you started to walk slowly, not commiting any mistake. You must be sure to act proper or else he'll look at you as a mistake. It felt like hours until you finally saw him, and he's down stairs.
