(CHONG)
I am not the nervous type. I am a tweny nine year old mature male who knows what he is doing.
I grew up at the dangerous streets of Beijing. Pickpocketed wallets from people roaming markets and docks. I joined gangs, learned to be tough, ran from cops, beat punks until Khan Gege had enough and ordered me to join the family organization at the age of eleven.
Since then, I was raised by murderers, thieves and smugglers. I learned things like how to torture people to give me informations I want and to kill people who is on the way of the organization.
I am a troubleshooter and darn good at my job. I am the Consort's Guard, and...I am still wondering what I got myself into. Dayu doesn't make sense sometimes.
But that is beside the point. My point is, I am a man with nothing to fear. I am raised as a predator.
But right now, I cannot make my mind settle as I think of Lao and the thought of...
Taking him out to a date.
Date. When was the last time I dated someone?
"I don't know..." I admitted honestly to Dayu when he asked that question.
"You cannot remember the last time you had a date?" Dayu snickered a laugh. "Oh poor Chong..."
He is cheeky, this Consort. "Why? Before meeting Wang Qing again and getting on with him, do you remember the last time you dated someone?" I asked Dayu back.
Dayu gave me a blank look, then he frowned at me. "Oh Chong...what are you doing? Do you need something?"
I sighed in exasperation. Those words were the exact greeting Dayu gave to me when I entered his office some minutes ago.
He is...what is he...really?
"Are we going back to the beginning...? Know what, that is fine...I am here to ask you about Lao," I reminded him.
"Ah, because you want to date him, right?" Dayu gave me a teasing smile. Then his smile melted, "Wait, Lao is my friend. And you are a mafia goon. No! I don't like you for my friend..." the Consort pouted at me.
"I will start caring about your opinion on me when I start caring about you. For now, I don't give a shit if you don't like me for Lao. As long as Lao likes me..."
"Did he really said that he likes you? Wow...that is a big deal. So when is the wedding?" Dayu eyed me intently.
This conversation is wasting my time. Truly...
"Can you be serious now?" I frowned at Dayu. "Can you help me or not...?"
"Well, I can but your tone, I don't like it. So no..." Dayu harrumphed. I glared at him before turning away.
"Hep! Hep!" Dayu called me back. I faces him again, he tsked at me. "You are impatient, my friend. You must not be like that. You will need lots of patience if you want to date the Next King's Aide."
"I have lots of patience for Lao. On the other hand, you exhausted my patience for you the first day that we met," I groused in annoyance.
"Was that the time when I cosigned a loan from your gang?" Dayu asked with a crease on his forehead.
We are not a gang. We are a smuggling organization. Oh my...heaven give me patience...
"No, it was when you hunted us down to demand that we loan you money, you..." I stopped myself, my mind reminding me that Dayu is a Consort now. I cannot call him "little shit" anymore.
