(LAO)
"You don't want us to have one peaceful day, do you? You hate it when we are relaxed and happy..." Chong whispered to Dayu, berating the Consort while the three of us are sitting together in the Mayor's office. I sat between Dayu and Chong. Qing is currently conversing with the town's Mayor and Police Chief.
"Not true," Dayu threw Chong dagger looks while pouting. He had took off the face beard and moustache. Dayu said the makeup artist taught him how to take them off. The Consort is clean faced again. He also took off the wig.
The Consort is recognizable again.
"Then why, for the love of all the holy things in this world, did you chase after those thieves?" Chong muttered that question darkly.
"Because they are stealing and someone had to stop them..."
"Well it's not your job to stop them. Your job is to remain at your Prince's side and be safe. For..." Chong groaned as if he is in pain. "You are impulsive, reckless and a troublemaker."
"I helped! I did not start no trouble!" Dayu hissed insistently.
"It's not your job to help! And if those shoppers are stupid and not alert enough, then they deserve to be robbed!" Chong hissed angrily.
Dayu and I gasped, "No one deserved to be robbed, Chong." Dayu said. "He is right," I agreed with my Consort.
Chong sighed, "Ah, I forgot. The two of you lived in a fairytale Palace where everyone is nice to everyone." He said, mocking on his tone. "Well, guess what Mr.Rainbows and Sunshines, real world doesn't operate like that. If you are careless about your treasures and belongings, you are practically inviting criminals to rob you. If you are too nice, you are in to be taken advantage of,"
"You have a dark look on the world," Dayu said, a sad look on his eyes.
"And you are a naive and bordering on stupid. I keep it real. Bad people do exists, Dayu. Like those criminals..." Chong retorted back. Then he turned his sharp stares on me, "Why are sitting so relaxed there? Your Consort just got himself in danger and you are so Zen there! You are pissing me off as well."
I sighed, "You and Qing are angry already. If I will snarl and hiss as well, then what about my Consort? Who will comfort Dayu?" I asked him.
Chong gave me a pained look, "You are so...complicit on him. You encourage him to be reckless..."
"He does not!" Dayu jumped to my defense then gave me a grateful look, "Lao, I love you..."
I smiled at that. "I love you too, Dayu ah."
We heard Chong's loud resigned sigh, "I should lock the two of you inside a bubble dome..." he groused darkly.
I get why Chong is mad. Like Qing, he worries about Dayu's safety. The way he ran fast after his reckless Consort to save Dayu, his loyalty to Dayu is so strong.
And the way he beat those criminals who dared to touch and kick his Consort, I think Chong paid them in full and more. That one guy he pummeled has one eye closed, from Chong's punches.
But now that the danger on his Consort's life had passed, Chong's pissy mood is now directed at Dayu. The one impulsive enough to ran after criminals.
What should we do to our Consort?
"We should tie him up so he won't make any trouble," Chong suggested.
